Kona Hills is a rustic campground focused on just the essentials, built for people who want to camp. Every campsite includes a picnic table and fire ring, with self-serve firewood available on-site and fresh artesian well water at the Welcome Area.

No hookups. No Wi-Fi. No long list of extras.

Enjoy a comfortable campsite, a campfire, and 80 acres of forest overlooking Lake Superior.

We’re back! Opening day is THIS Friday and we’ve been hard at work getting the property ready for this summer.

Upgrades continue for 2026 with our first permanent structures at Kona hills, vault toilets!

We are installing double units at 3 locations across the campground.

Concrete tanks sourced and poured locally by Goupille & Sons in Negaunee

Spring cleanup continues. 3 large white pines fell down in the “hill cluster” this winter. These will be cut into saw logs and stored for eventual milling to be used on future projects

Assessing the damage from this crazy winter we had. Many large trees down but overall the campground is in great shape and the water management held strong 👌
