Have you heard of The Wanderer Camper Rentals?!

If not, you need to check them out!

Our friends Kelsey and Kyle over at The Wanderer Camper Rentals have SIX campers available for rent, and here's the cool part—they deliver them, set them up, and have everything ready for you when you arrive!

So you get to enjoy a weekend of camping without having to own a camper, pull one down the highway, or figure out how to back the thing into a campsite.

But here's something Kaitlyn and I have been talking about lately...

Between The Wanderer's six campers and all of our cabins, cottages, tiny house, and glamping accommodations, we can sleep somewhere around 50–55 people right here at Grassy Road!

And that doesn't even include folks who want to bring their own RVs or pitch a tent!

So, who's planning the next family reunion? Company retreat? Church group getaway? Maybe just a big ol' weekend with a bunch of friends?

We've got 23 acres in the Ozarks, places for everyone to sleep, room to spread out, campfires, hiking trails, fishing ponds, and the Buffalo National River just down the road.

You bring the people. We'll help figure out where everybody sleeps!

🎨 A Little Piece of Grassy Road to Take Home! 🍂

One of my favorite things about Crisp Air & Chords this year was watching people experience something new, learn a little something about themselves, and leave with more than just memories.

And I don't think any workshop captured that quite like our Landscape Painting Workshop!

Matthew is an incredibly talented painter, but what impressed me even more was what an excellent teacher he is.

He hosted two workshops Saturday, helping well over a dozen people create their very own paintings of the beautiful landscape here at Grassy Road Cabins and Camping.

But Matthew didn't just teach his students how to mix colors or hold a paintbrush. He taught them about depth, perspective, and how to give a painting meaning. He carefully walked them through the process, encouraged them to try new techniques, and even demonstrated how NOT to do things!

And let me tell you, there were some pretty impressive paintings coming out of those workshops!

Every student seemed to genuinely enjoy the experience, but what really stood out to me was watching a few people discover something special in themselves. You could see them putting more than just paint on those canvases. There was thought, creativity, personality, and maybe even a little emotion going into their work.

That's a pretty incredible thing to witness.

And the best part? Everyone got to take home their own little piece of Grassy Road. Not a souvenir they bought off a shelf, but something they created with their own two hands, inspired by the very place where they spent their weekend.

How cool is that?!

I owe Matthew a HUGE thank you for sharing his time, patience, knowledge, and talent with us. He brought something really special to Crisp Air & Chords this year, and I couldn't be more grateful.

My only regret? I was so busy putting this whole thing together that I forgot to save myself a seat in his workshop!

I won't make that mistake again!

The Rockies can be seen from space. The Appalachians can be admired from miles away. But the Ozarks? The Ozarks were meant to be seen from horseback. 🐎🍂

And this past weekend at Crisp Air and Chords 2026 , we got to experience just that!

When we first started planning workshops for this year's event, horseback riding was one of those things I REALLY wanted to make happen. There's just something about riding a horse through the hills, trees, and winding trails of the Ozarks that you can't quite explain. You just have to experience it.

But making that happen was no small task!

That's where the incredible folks at OK Trading Post came in!

These guys loaded up and hauled FOURTEEN horses, saddles, tack, equipment, and everything else needed to bring a horseback riding experience right here to Grassy Road Cabins and Camping.

14 horses. A whole lot of miles. And at least 100 smiles! 😁🐴

And let me tell you, they were AWESOME!

From the way they handled the horses to the patience they showed with riders of all ages and experience levels, you could tell these folks genuinely love what they do. They didn't just show up and give people a horseback ride. They helped create memories for families, kids, and adults who might never have had an opportunity like this otherwise.

We had people riding through our property, taking in the fall scenery, and experiencing the Ozarks from a completely different perspective.

And seeing all those horses winding through Grassy Road? That was pretty special for us, too.

A HUGE thank you to OK Trading Post for going above and beyond to help make Crisp Air & Chords 2026 something special. We know how much work went into bringing this experience to our little corner of the Ozarks, and we appreciate every bit of it!

If you're ever looking for a horseback riding adventure in the Buffalo River area, look these folks up. They're the real deal!

We're still smiling about this weekend, and we've got plenty more memories to share!

Because at the end of the day, that's what we're trying to build out here at Grassy Road. Not just a place to stay, but a place to experience something worth remembering.

Workshop: Survival Skills.

One of the four workshops our guests got to participate in was hosted by an absolute master in the "old ways."

Dustin Morgan brought a complete kit for hands-on teaching of primitive fire making using a bow saw and a cow knee bone!

His teaching style, patience, and commitment to his craft are top tier. We had his workshop set up on Tent site #7, and I got 10/10 from every participant that walked out of the woods after learning from him.

We wanted Crisp Air and Chords 2026 to be more than a fall outdoor concert this year, something you all could REALLY be a part of. And wow, Dustin absolutely nailed it!

He was gracious enough to give myself and Dustin Kirk a one on one in-between session, and I'll tell you that he makes it look easy, but man it's tough!

Thank you Dustin for making this day great!

Mark Twain apparently didn't write much about Huckleberry Finn's earlier river rafts, because there's no way that kid did much better on his first try.

There was well-planned: Designs, Materials, Teamwork, and Ex*****on. But I guess one or more of those things just wasn't quite right.

You'd have to have been there to know how much fun we had.
