🔨 Another Grassy Road project taking shape!

Kaitlyn is giving you a quick tour of our new Laundry House, currently under construction and connected to our existing bathhouse.

When we first built the bathhouse, two full bathrooms seemed like plenty. Turns out, when Grassy Road is full two bathrooms isn’t always plenty.

So the new building will add a third full guest bathroom, plus three washers and three dryers.

The laundry setup will serve two purposes: it'll help us keep up with all the sheets, towels and quick turnarounds from our growing number of cottages, AND our guests will finally have access to laundry right here at the campground.

It may not be the most glamorous project we've built, but it's one of those projects that means something pretty exciting:

Grassy Road is growing. 🌲

And we're trying to make sure the campground grows right along with it.

Workshop #1- Paint The Ozarks

For Crisp Air & Chords 2026, we’re setting up the easels overlooking one of our favorite views at Grassy Road.

A local artist will be hosting 2 workshops where he will guide you through painting the beautiful fall scenery of the Ozarks. You don’t have to be a professional. You just have to show up!

Workshops will be open for sign-ups October 1st, and just like this one they will be limited!

There's going to be some AMAZING music under the stars (details coming soon).

My ability to keep a secret is largely based upon how interesting I find the secret it is I'm supposed to be keeping.

You got a speeding ticket? Yeeeeeah no problem. I can keep that secret forever because I already forgot about it.

"Hey, don't tell anyone not even your wife." That's not gonna happen. I'm already texting her every word you're saying.

So, I cannot wait until the fished product is done! I'm going to have to spoil the grand reveal early lol

But at least this way you'll get to follow along to see the progress, right?

Ta-da!!!!! I introduce you to THE LAUNDRY HOUSE!!!! 😂 Mind blowing I know, but hey we're excited! We'll be adding laundry and about bathroom!

Aaaaaaaand theeeeeeeen I give you the first glimpse at The Dogwood Cottage! This little gal (and her soon to be twin The Redbud Cottage) will be our newest edition! She's got a little growing to do just yet, but we can't wait to tell you all about it!

Well, we told you Marcy the Marsupial wasn't the only new member of the family.

Meet Lady May. ❤️

She's a brand-new black Lab puppy, she belongs to our son, (who promised to take care of her, and feed her, and train her, and and and 🙄) and something tells me you're going to be seeing plenty of her around Grassy Road.

Apparently Grassy Road has a new employee.

Nobody interviewed her.
Nobody approved the hire.
And I certainly was NOT consulted.

My crazy daughter has adopted a baby opossum and named her Marcy the Marsupial.

So, against my better judgment, I guess Marcy is officially the newest member of the Grassy Road family.

Her current qualifications include:

• Eating
• Sleeping
• Looking suspicious
• Being carried around like a baby
• And making me question where I went wrong as a parent

I would like the record to show that I did not agree to this.

But…she's kinda cute.

Welcome to the family, Marcy the Marsupial. 🐾

And believe it or not, Marcy isn't the only new member of the Grassy Road family we need to introduce this weekend.

🌲 Here’s what the rest of the year looks like at Grassy Road!

We’ve got a LOT happening around here over the next few months, so here’s a little campground calendar to help you plan your next trip.

🏗️ First, a quick update on tent camping & glamping:
Those areas will remain closed through October 15th while we finish up some pretty exciting improvements on that side of the property. There’s equipment moving, dirt being moved, trails taking shape, a pond getting some attention, and maybe a couple other things we haven’t told you about yet!

Our RV sites and available cabins/tiny house remain open during the work!

🎶 October 16–18 — Crisp Air & Chords!
Tent camping and glamping will be BACK OPEN just in time for our big fall weekend! We still have availability, so if live music, campfires, cool Ozark nights and a weekend outside sound good to you, come join us!

🍂 We also have Thanksgiving availability this year. If your family would rather gather around a campfire than spend the whole weekend inside, we can help with that.

And then comes winter…

Grassy Road has settled into a rhythm that we really like: we're a 10-month campground.

From March 1 through December 31, we're here for spring camping, Buffalo River summers, fall weekends, Thanksgiving getaways and Christmas-season escapes.

Then in January and February, we close the gates for a couple of months. It gives the land a rest, gives us time to tackle projects and maintenance, and gives our family a little breathing room before we start all over again.

Then March 1st rolls around…and we get to do it all again. ❤️🌲

Still plenty of 2026 left. Come spend some of it with us!

A lot can change in a year.

We’ve been looking around Grassy Road lately and realizing just how much has happened around here — and how much is happening right now. We are so thankful to be able to tell you about a few things we’ve been able to add this past year:

📶 Wi-Fi! Petit Jean Fiber brought fantastic high-speed internet all the way out to our little corner of the Ozarks. You can officially unplug without being completely unplugged. 😜

🌳 A big central recreation area. We moved our storage shed and opened up a large space in the middle of the campground for families, kids, games, gathering and whatever else we dream up for it.

🔥 Our group firepit area. About this time last year, we were just getting started on it. A few months later we were gathered around it for Crisp Air & Chords with live music, food, friends and one heck of a good fall evening.

And what’s coming for our campers in the VERY near future?

🧺 LAUNDRY! The plans are laid, the materials are on site, and we’re adding a laundry facility along with another full bathroom.

🥾 TRAILS! We’re adding dedicated walking trails around the property so you can explore a little more of Grassy Road — or just give your pup a good long walk.

🎣 The little pond is getting a complete facelift. The pond behind the tent sites is being cleaned up, reshaped and turned into a much prettier little corner of the property.

🏗️ There’s one more project underway!
Actually, there might be two of them, but we’re not telling you about those just yet. 😜

You’ll have to wait and see.

Grassy Road Campground is growing— but our goal is still the same: keep it small, keep it peaceful, and keep giving you more reasons to come spend a few days in the Ozarks. 🌲
