Our Loft Suites are incredibly unique, featuring a split floor plan and historic details weaved into the function of each room. In the kitchen, you'll find counters that double as museum displays, beautiful handmade pottery and original door mechanisms from the building's past. Pull the lever to open a secret pantry, where you can watch the mechanics work from behind glass.

The main levels offer plush queen beds, kitchenettes, private baths and space the lounge. A ladder-tread staircase leads to the upstairs loft, with a cozy futon and twin day bed to sleep 2 more guests - perfect for families and traveling with friends.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Doward and Toka Gentry. Doward and Toka were the jailers during Roy Roberts term as Sheriff of Madison County from 1966-1970 and they lived in the jail! They were aunt and uncle to our dear friend Rozella who would visit them and spend the night when she was a young girl. She never thought anything about it…that’s just where they lived!
We love this image of their Christmas card from that era. Standing in front of the old jail with the courthouse behind them.
We wish everyone all the best in the upcoming year. It’s been a tough year for Marshall and all of WNC but I believe our best days are ahead of us.
Much love to you all.

We had a super amazing last day of production at the Building Community Brick factory yesterday.
Governor Josh Stein came and made a brick with my mom!!!!
I love that Josh Stein just showed up and made a brick! It was so great that my Mom and Dad were there to have that experience.
We have achieved our production goal of creating 4000 unique bricks that tell the stories, thoughts, feeling and sentiments of folks in this world.
It was a super packed all day with folks getting their last minute bricks made.
It felt very fitting that Ryan and Ayden closed down the factory last night, since they have been so integral to the facilitation of this project.
This project has been so rewarding and humbling. It’s been an honor to share this with the people of the world.
It’s been a true joy to bring this project to the town of Marshall. Thank you all.
We will be firing all the bricks this winter and constructing the sculptural monument in the early spring.
