On August 28, 1927, famed aviator Charles Lindbergh flew into Mason City for the dedication of the city’s first airport, marking an exciting moment in our aviation history.

Nearly a century later, Mason City is still making history in the skies! 🌎✈️ The 2026 World Aerobatic Championships are happening now at Mason City Municipal Airport through September 2nd, bringing some of the world’s best aerobatic pilots to North Iowa.

From a legendary aviator in 1927 to the world’s best aerobatic pilots today, Mason City’s aviation story continues to soar. 🛩️

Some of the world’s best aerobatic pilots have arrived in , and now it’s time to take to the skies. 🤩 Catch the action daily from 9 AM–6 PM and experience world-class competition right here in our own backyard.

The big day is finally here, and it’s time to ROMP! The Mrs. Roper Romp is happening TODAY (8/15) in Downtown Mason City, and we can’t wait to see everyone dressed to impress in their best Mrs. Roper looks!

Onsite registration & check-in begins at 4 PM at the Federal Avenue Pedestrian Plaza. Gather your crew, grab your best Roper-inspired look, and get ready for an evening of sipping, snacking, dancing, and plenty of Roper fun! 🍹🌸
