The Adventure Hotel is a perfect basecamp for any Keweenaw Peninsula excursion. We enjoy sharing our knowledge of the area and sharing a few hidden gem secret sights! You’ve got a full fuel tank and your tire pressure is just right. So which of the Keweenaw’s 160 miles of trail are you planning to check out? There’s no better way to access the Keweenaw’s natural wonders, terrain, and history than

by ATV or SxS. Glide along the coast of Lake Superior or ride through ghost towns hidden among the vast Keweenaw forestlands. Trails on the peninsula run from Mass City in the south all the way to Copper Harbor in the north. Many of the trails use old railway grades that were built to transport copper ore and timber during the Copper Country’s mining heyday. Most of our communities can be accessed by trail with plenty of opportunities for fuel stops, dining, and lodging. So grab an ATV Map, buckle up, and read on for tips, recommendations, and resources to plan your off-road tour of the Copper Country.

Here are the details for our first winter storm set to move in late tonight and continue through Friday.

->Heavy snow is expected to begin around 6-8pm in the Upper Peninsula and continue into Friday

->Winds begin to pick up late tonight, reaching their peak (40-50mph) on Friday

->Near blizzard conditions are possible at times

->Expect low visibility and blowing snow to impact travel

->Snow ends late Friday night

When all is said and done, the UP wins this round, accumulating up to a foot of snow in spots. 2-8” zones protrude south into northern lower Michigan, and 1-3” is possible down into the Flint / Tri Cities regions through the thumb. Anywhere further south should be a light dusting of snow.

Trail report: There is plenty of snow on the trails, snow thins out towards Bruce’s crossing and south of Mass city. Grooming is a day by day decision. Everything around mass city and north is “rideable” but be prepared for moguls on the nights that haven’t been groomed.
