Thank you, Dolly, for showing women that we could be soft and strong. Feminine and powerful. Kind and ambitious. Faithful to where we came from, while still dreaming of somewhere bigger. ❤️
Thank you for “Coat of Many Colors,” and for reminding us that having little never meant being without riches.
That a mother’s love, a family’s pride and a coat stitched together with scraps could be worth more than anything money could buy.
Thank you for “Jolene” …because somewhere along the way, almost every woman has had a Jolene.
A woman who made us question ourselves, compare ourselves, worry about what we might lose… and eventually learn that our worth was never determined by another woman standing in the room. ❤️
Thank you for “9 to 5,” for every woman who got up, went to work, raised babies, chased dreams, paid bills, built businesses and kept going when nobody was handing her an easy road. ❤️
Thank you for making it okay to sparkle.
To wear the rhinestones.
To have the big hair.
To be a little “too much.”
To laugh loudly.
To dream enormously.
To know exactly who you are and never apologize for it.
You showed us that you can come from very little and still give so much.
That success doesn’t have to harden you.
That you can become an icon and still remember the mountains, the family, the faith and the people who helped make you.
And perhaps one of the greatest lessons of all: when God gives you a gift, use it…and when He gives you more than you need, find a way to give some of it back.
From a ranch filled with women, horses, big dreams, muddy boots, a whole lot of faith and, yes, plenty of rhinestones…and horses with your namesake…
