Little things make one's day. Recently some guests, who incidentally were on their honeymoon, left a small gift and sweet note.

Grapevine Cabin saw a lot of action the last 11 days as reclamation work took place in the valley and surrounding areas after the Goodwin Fire. Wild grass seed was spread first and then over 1 ton of straw was dropped from the sky at a time. This is to help with flood control.

The cabin was even able to host some of the Mountain West Helicopter crew.

Well nothing like a distraction the magnitude of the Goodwin Fire to get one side tracked!

I have been writing short biographical sketches of the 3 entrepreneurs of Grapevine Cabin and our last sketch is of Serenity, the oldest sibling at age 19 in this venture.

Serenity lended moral support during the building of the cabin, provided tasty lunches to keep the workers going and then afterwards helped in the decorating of the cabin.

She is now the main housekeeper, cleaning the place once guests have left, as well as restocking the fridge with more goodies.

Although she prefers to stay behind the scenes, without her vital help in cleaning and purchasing things when needed, the other siblings would be crying the blues.

We've been spotting deer quite regularly since the Goodwin Fire. So happy they are back.

A forest fire swept across the valley on June 27-28, 2017 where Grapevine Cabin stands. The only big patches of greenery left was around our house and cabin. It was a miracle from God.
