After 4.5 years at Burgdorf, these two are closing out their chapter as managers and beginning a new one — exploring America’s Last Frontier and enjoying some much-deserved time for the wide-open road and new adventures. ❤️
It’s hard to put into words what it means to care for a place like this — the very long days, snowy winters, busy summers, unexpected challenges, countless guests, friendships that become like a backcountry family, the seemingly endless tasks and projects, and all the little things that happen behind the scenes to keep a place like Burgdorf going — especially when you live where you work.
The reality of taking on a role like this is that it comes with sacrifices. It’s not for the faint of heart, as any of our managers before them could attest. It takes grit, adaptability, patience, hospitality, and a willingness to fully embrace the lifestyle that comes with the job. Lisa and Leland did exactly that, giving so much to Burgdorf over the past four and a half years.
Burgdorf will always be part of their story, and the care they poured into the property is evident everywhere you look. Burgdorf shines brightly because of that hard work. We heard countless compliments about the style, energy, personality, improvements, and hospitality they brought to this special place.
We’re so grateful for the years shared, the memories made, and everything you brought to Burgdorf. Here’s to one heck of a chapter behind you, some very big shoes to fill, and an exciting new adventure ahead for the two of you, Yowie, and George.
We will miss you guys so much. We will miss being greeted by your hugs, warm smiles, and fun stories of what you’ve been up to, but we can’t wait to hear about all the fun things that come next for you. It’s not “goodbye,” it’s “see ya later!” ✌️ ❤️🌲
