The Harkness Hotel is located in a 108 year old building listed on the National Historic Registry. It began life in 1906 as the McCammon State Bank building (the vault is now the hotel gift shop), with a mercantile store, post office and hospital also located in it. Historic details of the building include 11' ceilings, arch-top windows over 8' tall, two large skylights, original wood floors, moul
dings and doors, and period photographs and newspapers displayed throughout. Some furniture was constructed of original lumber removed during construction (such as the dining table in the Pearl Suite). Modern touches include the lighting: 12 crystal chandeliers in the hallways, a custom-made light fixture in the lobby that includes over 1000' of crystal strands and 140 recessed halogen spotlights throughout; three suites with full kitchens including stainless steel appliances, stone countertops and custom cabinetry; and bathrooms with custom walk-in showers, frameless glass doors and tile imported from Spain & Italy. The Harkness Hotel offers modern luxury coupled with historic elegance. We'll also run specials that will only be available to our Facebook fans, so make sure to click the 'Like' button!
