Would you agree that nothing beats a hot shower after a long day of hiking? We have one better!

At Blackburn Cabins we offer "outdoor" hot showers with suntuf roofs. This means plenty of natural light streaming in while you indulge in a long shower.

See birds flying overhead, or raindrops pitter-pattering, as you wind down from a long day of exploring the largest national park in the USA. 🚿🥾

Before we accept that summer is fully here, we needed one last winter throwback. ❄ We LOVE this Kennicott and McCarthy winter wonderland!

However, nothing beats summer fun and temperatures. ☀ Shh, don't tell winter we said that.

Both Cabin 7 and Cabin 8 (peeking out in the back left) are our cozy queen-bed cabins, ideal for couples or solo travelers. Guests love how close they are to the shower house, a welcome treat after a full day of exploring 🥾

In honor of winter creeping in, we wanted to take a second to remember our favorite season! 🍂
The air gets crisp, the light turns golden, and the valley feels a little quieter. Fall in McCarthy and Kennicott always reminds us how special this place is — remote, wild, and full of small moments that make you pause and breathe it all in. 🍂

Blackburn Cabins has been a burden of love for Livvi, Tuesday, and I. We've spent the last 13 years building what we hope is a wonderful place for people to come enjoy the nostalgic charm of the Wrangells. A comfortable, affordable sanctuary of peace in the forest at the edge of McCarthy, and a place to stay while exploring McCarthy, Kennecott, and The Wrangell - St. Elias National Park. It is with sad adieu but enthusiasm for the future we are stepping away from Blackburn Cabins. We'd like to thank the thousands of happy guests that we've hosted over the years. Blackburn Cabins remains the Best Place To Stay in The Wrangell Mountains!

We first met Mary about a year ago and knew right away she'd make a good fit at Blackburn Cabins. Since she's first set eyes on the cabins, she showed a true love for them. Livvi and I are confident that Blackburn is in good hands - and we're excited to see Mary's enthusiasm for the cabins and for the area, and to improve upon the guest experience. We know there's a lot in store for the future of Blackburn Cabins - and we're excited to see it! When you're in McCarthy, give Mary a big hello and congratulations - or better yet, when you stay at the cabins give her shout out!

We're not leaving McCarthy, but we're moving on to our next endeavor: Stop on by Wrangell Arts & Treasures when you're in McCarthy. We're just down the road!

And remember: Everything is always better in the Wrangell Mountains!

Once again the crew at Blackburn Cabins did our part to keep the roads of McCarthy clean! Ok, maybe we found a date spike too! Come on out to McCarthy and enjoy some summer fun!
