Hello campers!😃
The countdown is on now and I’m messaging to let you know that we will be opening the gate Friday, April 10th at noon. We are not there yet, not even on weekends, we are still preparing to go but will be up there to open the gate. Now let’s all pray 🙏 that the weather is ready for us all to come back and camp! We will see you all soon! Have a Blessed Easter and enjoy your time making memories with your family, and remember the reason we celebrate this holiday. . . Our Savior arose from the tomb to save us all. . . And yes, the Easter Bunny brings treats too! 🐇💐

It is with deep sadness that I’m writing to you today.😔. We have lost yet another camper through the night last night. . . Richard (Dick) Peters. He always had a smile and “Hi! How are ya?” ready when you would come upon him, as well as his counterpart, Reagan, always by his side! He was always keeping busy at the campground raking up leaves, trimming flower bushes, or getting rid of weeds somewhere up there! You could always see him and Reagan riding on his golf cart busy doing something! When not busy, we could see the cart go by with him and Reagan taking Nancy on a ride with them! We will miss his smile and please. . . Please keep Nancy in your prayers as this is quite a loss for her! 🙏. Dick’s suffering is over now, and Nancy’s loss is beginning. Lots of prayers 🙏🙏 needed her way for strength and peace at this unfortunate time. When you see Nancy, just walk up and give her a hug. . . No words will be necessary. . . Just give her a hug!🥰. Sending our deepest condolences to you Nancy and Reagan! 🙏❤️

To Our Campers:
Once again I must come to you with the loss of another camper.😔. Randy’s Dad, Russell Johns, passed away Sunday evening. With much regret I am cancelling Christmas In July this weekend, as well as our Auction which was to be on Saturday. The funeral is on Saturday and that is where myself and my family must be. I’m hoping and praying all of you will understand. Know that we appreciate your understanding.
Thank You, Brenda & Randy

Good Afternoon Campers,

I need to get a message out to all of you. I’m afraid I am going to have to cancel the Potluck Dinner scheduled for tonight at 5. We need to tend to a family emergency and will not be able to have our dinner tonight. We apologize but need to be elsewhere. We appreciate your understanding.

Brenda & Randy

Hello campers. . . It is with a very heavy heart that I must share yet another loss of one of our camping family.😔. On Friday, February 7th, Dorothy (Dot) Hubert passed away at Hamot Hospital around 230am. Please keep all of her family in your prayers as they are going to need them the next few days.🙏. Dot and John were our neighbors when we camped at Camp Wilhelm and eagerly came along with us when Playland became ours. Dot started up Bingo at the rec hall and ran it many years until her health began to take a toll on her. John always took care of all the golf carts when they needed fixing. We have always treasured their friendship and have enjoyed all the years of sharing our families and kids!❤️. Many treasured memories for sure! I was blessed to have been able to have a lengthy conversation with her a few weeks ago, which we reminisced about camping days, our kids, grandkids and of course Playland! I sometimes sit and wonder was she telling me something. . . ? Yes, I believe so! Anyway, please keep prayers going for the family. I sit and think of Dot being reunited with John and it gives me a very warm smile.♥️. Fly high my friend. . . Until we meet again!! 😇🕊️.
If anyone is interested in the arrangements for Dot, they are as follows:

Hartle Funrral Home, Franklin, PA
Visiting Hours from 2pm to 6pm, Tuesday, February 11th.
Funeral immediately following at 6pm.

It is with a very sad and heavy heart that I’m writing this. We have once again lost one of our dear campers.😔 I was informed yesterday on the passing of Bill Paxton. Please, please keep his wife, Cynthia, and their children and their families in your prayers.🙏. They will need all of the support we can give them right now. He fought the battle and is now in the arms of Jesus. ❤️ I just spoke to him about 10 days to 2 weeks ago and we discussed a few things and ended our conversation with “stay healthy and we will see each other in the spring”. Well Bill. . . I’ll still be standing at the top of the hill waiting to see your families smiles driving up, all the while knowing that you are there with all of your family and friends. 😍. I treasure each of the relationships I have with our camper families, and Bill will be remembered that’s for sure!! Let’s all remember that when we see Cynthia or one of the kids or grandkids - just give them a hug, no words are necessary just a huge hug!! 😢🙏❤️

It is with a heavy heart that I need to tell you all of the passing of yet another camper here at Playland. 😔. Margaret Castile will be truly missed at Playland as she is a legacy herself! She was an awesome Mrs. Claus 🤶🏻, a social butterfly who loved going around on her cart to visit people, and just loved her site- red roof and all!- at the campground. I personally will miss her lovely 😃 smile as she would light up when someone called her name! She was an important part of Playland for sure! The first season after buying Playland, she brought her camping group in for the weekend and gave me some mentoring on how to accommodate such a group. . . After all Randy and I were campers ourselves and all this was new to us! Well, I learned a lot from Miss Margaret and will forever be grateful for the chance to get to know her and Al - what a blessing!😍. You made it Margaret. . . I can just imagine that smile of yours when you looked upon Jesus’ face and again when you saw Al waiting there for you!❤️🥹. Fly high my dear friend. . . Please keep watching over us all here, and thank you for the blessing of being able to truly call you “my friend”! ❤️. I’ll be there tomorrow to say goodbye but not for good, just for a little while. Until we meet again. . . 😇😘

Good morning campers. . . Once again with a heavy heart I am letting you know of the loss of another camper, Jeremy Burnham in a tragic accident Saturday. I was truly blessed to have him, and still will have his wife Jill, their two daughtrrs Lauren and Alaina, as well as Jill’s mother Margaret Gevin as my neighbors at camp. 😔. No matter what job Jeremy was there to fo, he was never too busy to stop and say “Hi!” Or ask how we were doing! He was always making sure Margaret was “camper ready” when she arrived. The love of his family was visible in just the way he would interact with them! His beautiful wife, my special friend Jill, know that I am holding you up in prayers 🙏 and surrounding you with huge “hugs” 🥰 as you endure these next few days! Know that we, as your camp family will always be ready with hugs for you and will be here to help you and the girls embark on this new path you are on, no matter what it may be. Hold on to your memories and remember all of the love ❤️ Jeremy had for you, Jill and for the deep love he carried for the girls! We love you all and will be behind you!
I apologize for not getting this out sooner but have been under the weather myself. 🥰💔. Fly high Jeremy. . We will see you again!!🕊️

It is with a heavy, saddened heart that I once again come to all of you to ask for prayers 🙏 and love in the psssing of Playland’s “camp mascot” Wilson. He was a very loving and friendly dog who befriended us all, young and old. He was always ready to hop on his golf cart for a ride, whether it was to catch himself a ground hog or to take the Saturday night buggy ride, or take the garbage down, or put letters in the mailbox. He was always game for a ride, even if it was just to sit down by the ponds and look it over to make sure all was well. He would even keep watch over all our children as they played and ALWAYS was ready to give everyone his awesome “Wilson kisses”!! I always lined up for mine! 😍 If you see Marlene or Tom today, please just give them a huge hug to let them know you care and show them how much Wilson meant to us all! Rest In Peace my sweet boy. . . Until we meet up again for more sloppy kisses!🥹. Know you were loved by all!!😔💔
