🏗️ Big improvements are underway at School Section Lake Veteran’s Park! 🏗️

While the park is now closed for the season, there’s plenty happening behind the scenes as we prepare for an exciting 2027 season!

🔨 The Art Barn has a new roof! This important improvement will help protect the building and keep this popular gathering space available for many more years of activities, crafts, and family fun.

🚧 The Beach Bathhouse is coming down! Demolition is now underway as we prepare for construction of a brand-new, more accessible and family-friendly bathhouse facility at the beach. The new bathhouse will provide an improved experience for all visitors and better serve families and guests of all abilities.

⚠️ A reminder to visitors: If you are walking or enjoying the park during the offseason, please stay clear of all active construction areas and obey all closure signs and posted restrictions.

🍂 School Section Lake County Park – CLOSED for 2026 Season 🍂

The 2026 camping season at School Section Lake County Park has officially come to a close. Thank you to all of our campers and visitors who helped make it another great year! We look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2027. 🌲⛺

While School Section Lake is closed for the season, there are still plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors throughout the Mecosta County Park Commission system this Fall and Winter.

🌲 Tubb's Lake Rustic Campground remains open through December 1 for those looking for a more rustic camping experience.

🦌 Haymarsh Lake State Game Area remains open year-round for camping, hunting, and day-use activities.

🥾 White Pine Valley Recreation Area remains open for trail use and provides additional opportunities for hunting and outdoor recreation.

🚤 Brower Park and Davis Bridge Park remain open for day-use, boat launch access, and access to Michigan's Dragon at Hardy Dam.

🎣 Paris Park - Michigan remains open for parking and access to the White Pine Trail, front fish pond, and spur trails surrounding the park.

During the Fall and Winter months, we encourage you to explore these locations and enjoy everything the Mecosta County Parks system has to offer.

🏕️ Campsite Decoration Contest - Voting ends Saturday at 4PM in the Park Office
🧙 Costume Contest - Saturday at 5:30PM
🍬 Trick-or-Treating throughout the campground - Saturday 6PM-8PM
❓Trivia Night - Saturday at 7PM in the North Pavilion
