“If you’ve lived here your whole life, it breaks your heart."

A proposed Google data center in Barber County is drawing both support and concern from residents as community members weigh potential economic benefits against impacts to their land and way of life.

The project is proposed near the small town of Sharon, about 12 miles east of Medicine Lodge along U.S. 160. Plans include multiple large buildings to house computer systems, along with support facilities and security infrastructure.

Some local leaders tell Kate Devine KAKE the project could bring much-needed jobs and economic relief to the rural county, while others say they still have unanswered questions about its long-term impact.

*Long post warning but I feel like people need this information*

Well I decided to go to a public meeting regarding the data center that is planned for Yukon. I went to get information only for it to be interrupted by agenda driven activists who immediately went to talk to the new people outside. Because of course they did and because of the news showing up Express Ranches asked everyone to leave. I did stay for a minute and talk to a couple of reps about the data center and I'll include what I found out as these were my main concerns.

Water usage: the site is restricted to no more than 2.5 million gallons of treated waste water per day for cooling. Depending on how big the site is they will never use more than that but the bigger it is the closer to that number it is. Currently the wastewater treatment facility that is north of Yukon on Garth Brooks Blvd is the default location to provide the Wastewater for the facility. It currently produces 3 million gallons of Wastewater a day but can be expanded to have more Wastewater pools and can be expanded up to 5 million gallons of Wastewater a day. After talking with the company representative it sounds like they are going to be using a hybrid system that is partially closed and open loop. Which means less water usage than some but it is a net water consumer.

Water Quality and treatment/environmental impact - this is another obvious area of concern as some centers in other states have incidences of contaminated ground water and sub par runoff impacting local wildlife. This is addressed first by the city for retreating the gray/non-potable water then sending it to the data center where it is treated again before entering their system. It is cycled through their system for a short amount of time. Then treated again and sent back to the city owned waste water treatment plant and treated again to ensure it meets current DEQ standards and is released into the North Canadian River as it has already been doing for years.

Power Usage/Demand and potential costs- per Oklahoma HB 2992 which passed the house with flying colors and is moving to the senate. As it stands it would require large load customers like data centers to have their own energy rates and will have to pay a tariff which covers the cost of building the infrastructure to power their facilities. What this means is we won't foot the bill for powering these facilities.

Noise Levels - they are required by existing laws to be no louder than 65 dB which is equivalent of a running dishwasher.

So in short if the deal stands as is we won't pay to power it and we will get upgrades to local infrastructure as well as more jobs and an increase to the tax base. Ai is coming one way or another and if we don't produce it then China will. Whoever gets to Artificial General Intelligence first wins... Everything. It needs to be us otherwise brush up on your Mandarin.

Little Johnny, a seventh grader known for his curiosity, often posed numerous questions to his teacher. One day, he asked his English teacher a perplexing query about silent letters in words like “hour” and “honour.” His teacher explained, “We’re not ignoring them; they’re considered silent.” Confused, Johnny remained puzzled.

Later, during lunch, the teacher asked Johnny to heat her packed meal in the cafeteria. Johnny, misunderstanding due to the silent ‘h’ in ‘heat,’ ate all the food and returned the empty container. Bewildered, the teacher asked why he hadn’t heated the food as instructed. Johnny innocently replied, “Madam, I thought ‘H’ was silent.”

This amusing incident humorously illustrates the challenges of English pronunciation and pays tribute to dedicated English teachers. God bless all of the teachers in the world!!!

Please help me share this THIS IS NOT JUST THE RICH! WE NEED TO MAKE IT UNDERSTOOD BY ALL OF THOSE STILL ENTERTAINING THE THOUGHT OF VOTING FOR THIS. You loving the unrealized gains tax to stick it to the rich?, check it. It applies to all of us. Last year I had a retirement account go from around 70k to 110k. 40k gain and I didn't touch it. But under her plan I would have to pay 25% taxes on the 40k even though I just let it sit. So I pay 10k in taxes on that increase. Today I got a statement and my retirement account lost over 50k. It is less than what I had at the start of last year. I do not get a refund on the 10k in taxes I paid. So now it's at 60k. If it goes up a year later to the 110k I was at now I pay taxes on 50k unrealized gains. So I pay another 12.5k in taxes. 22.5k in potential tax liability for me with out drawing a dime. You people that think it will force the rich to pay their share are idiots. It kills the normal people. Not the rich.

So I heard the critics hate the biopic Reagan, so I watched it tonight & per usual when the critics hate something it means 1 thing, they are trying to discourage us from seeing it contents. I do believe that is what is happening here. Reagan was not complacent, he wanted to protect American's from the people who were suppose to be protecting us. Reagan advanced domestic policies that featured a lessening of federal government responsibility in solving social problems, reducing restrictions on business, and implementing tax cuts. Internationally, Reagan demonstrated a fierce opposition of the spread of communism throughout the world. Does any of this sound familiar 🤔? Please watch it for yourself & form your own opinions. I however agree with the 98% of the people who agree it is a good movie.
