WOW! An incredible shot of the night sky by Intentional Adventure at our campground! 🌌 We feel grateful for this view every night these stars are visible. It's not very often you get a site like this outside of North Dakota. Thanks for sharing this one Intentional Adventure! 💯

Not photoshopped!!
It’s hard to believe that the sky could be this full of stars, but it is in North Dakota!
This is a picture I took when we were in North Dakota last year and it still amazes me when I look at it, especially since I saw it with my own eyes! 🥰
This is just one more reason to go and travel! You see things you never thought possible! 😍
Where have you seen the starriest skies? ✨

Just might have to stop by the park this afternoon!

Just might have to stop by the park this afternoon!

Today is National Take a Hike Day!

In a year where we have spent so much of our lives inside, today is a great opportunity to break free and boost our mood and sensory perception by spending some quality time outdoors. From the physical exercise we get when out on the trail to the emotional relief that comes from being in nature, hiking is proven to have many health benefits.

So lace up those boots, get outside, and expose yourself to the elements. Feel the warm sunshine on your face, listen to the sound of the wind rushing across the open prairie, smell the scent of the earth as your feet carry you further and further down the trail. Let nature recharge your soul.

Today is !

Much more than America’s largest land mammal, bison are an essential part of American history, symbolizing the strong and resilient characteristics of the American people.

The great thundering herds of these magnificent animals were once hunted to near extinction, with only several hundred remaining by the turn of the twentieth century. Fortunately, several individuals, including Theodore Roosevelt, had the foresight to try saving the few animals that remained.

Through federal legislation and various efforts to protect this magnificent species over the course of the past century, the American bison was set upon a path of recovery and their survival has been safeguarded through ongoing conservation work. Today, more than 350,000 bison roam the North American continent and they no longer balance on the edge of extinction. It is truly one of America’s greatest conservation success stories.

Check out https://www.nps.gov/subjects/bison/protecting-bison.htm to learn more about the current status and challenges of bison management, as well as recent scientific studies happening in national parks today!
