Visiting Meeker this fall for wildlife and fall color viewing along the Flat Tops Trail Scenic Byway. The colors start popping mid-September.

“Sheep parade” as our friend Ellen Nieslanik would say. It’s time for our Spring sheep trail to the high country. We will start our journey passing South of Rangely on 4/23 and go by Kenny Reservoir on 4/24. We will make our way East on Highway 64 till we get to a pasture and hold up for a few days to rest. We will keep you updated on our travels so everyone can plan accordingly. As always, we ask everyone to please have patience with the sheep, herders and dogs. Good morning, we are about to get back onto CR 8 then merge onto Highway 13 headed West through Meeker.

Hello everyone, we are getting ready to start our migration to the West with one of our herds. We will be traveling down County Road 6 onto County Road 8 beginning Saturday (10/18). On Sunday (10/19) we will make our way through Meeker and merge onto Highway 64 heading to Powell Park. Our other herds won't be heading that way till November. Whew - it's been quite a month so far in Rio Blanco County. Multiple wildfires impacted the area - in particular the Elk Fire (14,518 Acres) and Lee Fire (137,485 Acres). Many are still dealing with the after effects and devastation of the natural resources, wildlife, fences and livestock. We're keeping them in our thoughts and prayers.

Thanks to the gallant efforts of so many, people are safe and so many structures have been spared. As folks pick up the pieces and move forward, so too will we. The Board of Directors voted to proceed with the 2025 Meeker Classic. The show will go on September 3 - 7, 2025 in Meeker with most things as they always been.

We've had to cancel the Jammin' Lamb Fest on Saturday night, September 6th, but there may be an alternate event. We'll let you know.

We do this with immense pride in the firefighters, first responders and people of the community. Their spirit and resiliency is inspiring and a model we all should aspire to. So please, if you can, join us in September to celebrate the dogs, the sheep, agriculture and and the human spirit that will help everyone through this difficult time.

Just a few days ago from the front of our house looking over Powell Park.
The firefighters-from Meeker to those who have traveled in- have done an incredible job saving rural homes and our town! We are so very grateful.
Rio Blanco County-their updates and alert systems. Our community- has helped each other every step as they usually do. Coming together moving livestock checking on each other, moving people out of their homes, and taking people in.
Our sweet nursing home residents moved to Rifle. Pray for peace for them in this unsettling time.

The fire is still burning. West of us. And Elk fire is also on the other side of Meeker. Please keep praying for the fires to stop in beautiful western CO.
Thank you to so many who have been checking on us and our RVers!
We are ok and on Set status for evac.watching and waiting. It looks better by us but still watching the winds.
