Rolling R Ranch The Rolling R Ranch consists of 4 cabins and 3 RV sites located near the White River National Forest, 20 miles east Eleanor was a frequent visitor to the ranch.

The Rolling R Ranch is located near the White River National Forest, 20 miles east of Meeker, Colorado, in the beautiful White River Valley. The ranch has been in existence for over 100 years and, according to local legend, was a rendezvous point for the passing Ute tribes. In the early 1900's, the property was a fox farm, producing some of the finest fox pelts in the area. The Rolling R Ranch was

named by Elliott Roosevelt, who owned the property in the 1950’s. Elliott was the son of President Franklin D. & Eleanor Roosevelt. The property was later purchased by Clark Wix in 1972 and is still owned and managed by his children and grand kids. It consists of approximately 17 acres, mostly hay meadow. There are three cabins (homes) and several outbuildings on the property, all clustered next to the river. Located on the south bank of the South Fork of the White River, where from the dining room windows of the Roosevelt house, you can watch the river freezing from the bottom up during the winter, hence the origin of the name 'White River'. Right out the back doors of the cabins is river access for world class, year round fishing. The cabins are located next to the Flat Tops Wilderness Area, Lake Avery, Trappers Lake, Meadow Lakes, South Fork and many more areas for recreation. At the mouth of the South Fork canyon, near the confluence of the north and south forks of the White River, this historic and scenic property is difficult to surpass.
