Meet the Blair House Writers Retreat facilitators! 🌙
RIEL BELLOW
is a multidisciplinary artist, educator, writer, and radio-host. they grew up moving around with the seasons, and running around markets between santa fe, new mexico, san cristóbal de las casas, chiapas, and edmonton, alberta. riel has published work in Canada Art, ẹwà journal, Gender Fail, Poetry Project, Vera List Center for Art and Politics, and elsewhere. riel holds a BA from Pitzer College, an MFA from Bard College’s Milton Avery Graduate School, and has recently taught at Pomona College, and Scripps College.
ANDREA JIMENEZ
is a community-focused herbalist, naturalist, and visual storyteller dedicated to ecological awareness, holistic wellbeing, and reconnecting people with nature. As the founder of Herb Club LA, she has engaged over 2,000 participants in workshops and events emphasizing herbal medicine, wellness, and land stewardship. Growing up as a first-generation immigrant of Native American descent, Andrea is deeply committed to honoring Indigenous traditions and promoting natural ways of living. Her personal journey of healing through nature has reinforced her belief that caring for our inner world directly influences our outer world. Andrea sees the interconnectedness of land health, community health, and individual wellness at the core of her work, believing that connecting with plant kin and learning directly from nature empowers us to better care for ourselves and our planet.
MALLIKA SINGH
is a poet, farmer, and cook living in Albuquerque, New Mexico. you can read their work in Protean Magazine, the Poetry Project, and baest journal. their chapbook, Retrieval, a poetic investigation into an NSA data collection site, was published in 2020 by Wendy’s Subway. often working in collaboration with others, mallika makes experimental poetics and soundscapes which explore resonance, power, intimacy, and ecosystems. mallika is growing okra and more with their coworkers at Ashokra Farm. find them out in the field or by the river.
