Every wall here kept a secret for 150 years. 🌲

When the North Coast's redwoods were logged to help rebuild San Francisco after the 1906 earthquake, the heaviest "sinker" logs slipped beneath the Big River and settled into the silt — where the cold, mineral-rich water quietly preserved them.

Decades later, a bridge repair brought them back to the light: virgin redwood up to sixteen feet across. Rather than fell a single living tree, 15,000 board feet of this rescued wood became Brewery Gulch Inn & Spa in 2001. Look closely at the paneling, and you'll still see the river's colors in the grain.
