Haven by the Falls Fishing, Snowmobiling or just seeing the Fall Colors at the waterfall that separates LOTF from the Turtle-Flambeau Flowage. We’ll keep posting.

Haven by the Falls is going to be taking a break. We have decided that the Ruffing family is going to start enjoying The Haven themselves with family and friends, and at least for now, stop renting out Haven by the Falls. We are going to keep the FaceBook page alive, for a few reasons. One, we want to be able to make recommendations to our past guests and friends on other lodging establishments, b

ased on our experiences enjoying the area. Secondly, just because so many people have commented to us that they had so many great memories of the Haven, and were so glad to see it being kept alive, upgraded, and improved, instead of being left to fall apart like so many other area cottages that have been around for decades, but sadly, are no more. Third, we haven’t ruled out that we would get back into the business at some point in the future, and if we were to decide to sell The Haven, a future owner could decide that they wanted to rent it out and that could be of interest to our

Jeff likes to “fix stuff” and has enjoyed all of the very positive feedback from the improvements. It’s obvious from the responses of guests and friends, that people like to see “stuff get fixed up” too. We’ve decommissioned Unit 2 kitchen and converted it into a laundry room, which we will find very useful. We may revisit and change our decision in the future. Another very recent Haven update!
The bunk bed room is out. The “Moose” room is in, and with a queen size bed for your sleeping comfort.
New windows, doors, dresser, nightstand, some paint, and a Moose 🫎 angle on decor.

Some very recently completed updates to share!
The “Loon” bedroom is our “Lakeview room”.
New windows, doors, dressers, nightstands, and completely redecorated in a Loon motif (We are in the Loon Capital of the World!)

(These improvements haven’t even made their way onto our Evolve listing yet!)

We started a major upgrade project at the Haven this past fall.
We worked hard all through the winter and spring months to get this all wrapped up just in time for the 2025 summer rental season
We replaced 6 bedroom windows
We replaced the old siding with red vinyl siding and white trim.
We’ve added the highest level of foundational pest separation available.
We rebuilt the front stoop in front of the bar.
We removed the tired old deck, in favor of a larger, hand-laid paver block patio. The patio is a level walk out, and we added several truckloads of fill to improve the grade.
The lakeside screen gazebo has a wooden deck beneath it now, as well.
That’s just the visible stuff….
The mosquito control spraying service that we’ve contracted makes it all so much more enjoyable!

New patio just finished this week at the Haven. Renters coming in this week don’t even expect the major upgrades that we’ve done over the winter and spring.
