A note from a guest:

It’s a bird, It’s a plane, no it is the charming Riverview Mansion! The draw for many to the town of Metropolis, IL is the Superman Festival, but for Jenni and I it is the charming Riverview Mansion.
The Riverview Mansion is located at 205 Metropolis Street, just steps away from the Ohio River. This 1880 Victorian Mansion stands tall on the corner and seems to call all who pass by to come in and stay awhile. It is actually what Jenni and I did.
When we arrived in late February the weather was gray and cold, but once we walked through the front door we were greeted with warmth and sunny hospitality. Will and Lori, the owners, greeted us like we were long time friends. Lori showed us around the property and ended the tour in the room we would stay- the Grand Suite. The Grand Suite is located on the first floor of the mansion. The room is filled with lots of antiques and a king size canopy bed. The room also included a huge whirlpool bath tub and a full bathroom with a step-in tub with jets (what a treat).
Lori and Will prepare an amazing 3 course breakfast. Breakfast is served at the time you request any time between 430am and 6pm. We were lucky enough to enjoy 3 breakfasts and each was different with lots of sweet and savory items.
We did enjoy the huge, cozy room and the homemade breakfasts, but I think our favorite part was getting to know Lori and Will.
Lori is a woman with so many talents. If you want to get married, she can take care of everything (except for the dress). Her heart to care for people is something that touches your soul.
Will is a great storyteller. He knows the entire history of the mansion and all of the little stories that makes the history interesting. He is a retire History teacher, so his knowledge and stories can keep you entertained for hours.
When our stay had ended we no longer felt like friends, but we genuinely felt like family. Our goodbyes were sealed with a warm hug from Lori and a see you again from Will.
If you are looking for a place to go and relax or maybe to see Superman, then you need to reserve your room at the Riverview Mansion. The Riverview Mansion is your home away from home.

Yes the pantry will be open tonight at 5 PM. We will have celery, fresh, spinach, salad, bowls, blueberries, grapes, strawberries, beef, steak, tomatoes, and I’m not sure what else because we’re still unloading. Video will be posted as soon as we’re set up. Bring your bags, bring your friends it’s all good if you’re new, bring a piece of mail or an ID with your address on it. If you have questions or issues come anyway, we’ll figure it out. You won’t go away hungry.
