✨🍲 Cooking My Famous Post-Op Soup 🍲✨
I never set out to be a “soup person,” but I just knew my girls needed something warm, healing, and nourishing on surgery day. The very first time I made this recipe, I freestyled it in the kitchen and it was a hit — that’s how most of my recipes are born. I cook intuitively, making something out of nothing, guided by the energy of the people around me.
Today’s batch is extra special. I’m welcoming back one of my past clients — she and her husband feel like family now — and caring for another beautiful soul currently staying with me. The last time I cooked for them, I accidentally added too much crushed red pepper… but they loved it. That “oops” moment gave birth to my spicy version of the soup.
This pot is full of layers: broth from slow-cooked black beans, frozen stock from a previous batch, carrots, potatoes, celery, and — for the first time ever — turkey necks for a deep, rich flavor. Every spoonful is infused with care, spirit, and intention.
If you’re looking for a post-op recovery home in Miami that goes beyond basic care — where nutrition, mental health, spiritual support, and holistic healing are just as important as surgery recovery — my doors are open. With my background as a social worker, EMT, chef, therapist, counselor, business coach & mentor, you’ll get a full wraparound VIP experience, not just a bed.
