If you’ve never heard of Beachwalk it’s an adorable vacation community that feels like Florida but only a little over an hour from La Grange in Michigan City Indiana. In addition to the Lake Michigan access, the community offers a pool, splash pad, tennis 🎾 , beach volleyball, basketball 🏀 , kayaks, fishing 🎣 , playground, and much more! The broader area has great restaurants, breweries 🍻 , casino, a great zoo, Lighthouse Outlet mall 🛍️ , and it’s 15 minutes to New Buffalo MI.

We love Dune Billies Beach Cafe! Short bike ride from Belle Isle!

Fun fact: there is a Chicago flag table at Dune Billies (featured in this article). We loved it so much we asked to purchase it, but it wasn’t for sale. Dune Billies gave us the artists info and we had the artist create us a Chicago Flag table, which is now the centerpiece of the Chicago theme in Jack’s Loft behind Belle Isle!

One of our favorite places in Michigan City! Kids love watching for the train to come so the bridge moves, plus the boats and fish in the River. The food is great and so is the service. But best of all, this means summer is coming!

This weather has us imagining sitting on a patio under an umbrella, overlooking the water while sipping a cold beer. Oh, you too? Good news then… 😏 we are opening for the season Wednesday, May 14th! Here’s to our regulars 🍻
