Below is Lin's Obituary. When every I look at her memorial photo two thoughts come to mind. The first thought is damn my wife is gorgeous and this is quickly followed by the second which is why the heck is she with me. Thankfully God does works in mysterious ways. Those who are local and plan to attend the Friday service are encouraged to bring a piece of Lin's purchased artwork (i.e., pottery piece - snowman, etc.) as a display tribute to her.
Obituary Linda Lin Quinn
Linda Quinn, lovingly known as Lin, passed away on May 18, 2026, at UC Anschutz Hospital in Aurora, Colorado, after a courageous battle with EHE sarcoma. Born on August 23, 1963, in Ellenville, New York, she was 62. She left this world peacefully, held in the arms of her devoted husband of more than 44 years and surrounded by enduring love.
Lin was first and foremost a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Of all the roles she held, being Mom and Grandma was the one she cherished most deeply. To all who knew her, family was the center of her life, and her greatest legacy was expressed in three powerful letters: M-O-M. She is survived by her husband, Tom Quinn; her children, Rian Quinn, Sean Quinn, and Meghan Quinn, together with Charmaine Quinn, Anastasia Quinn, and Stephanie Burnett; her grandchildren, Charlotte Quinn, Crosby Burnett, Ruby Burnett, and Olivia Quinn; her sister, Toni Kingsbury; her brother, Robert Smith; and the extended family and friends whose lives were forever enriched by her love.
A gifted self-taught artist, Lin began drawing as a child and nurtured her creative spirit throughout her life. Her artistry spanned many forms, including pottery, drawing, painting, sculpture, children’s books, and many other creative expressions. Her work reflected both imagination and discipline, and those who saw it immediately recognized her remarkable talent. Lin also loved many forms of music, especially country, and was a devoted John Denver fan. Her favorite song, Follow Me, held for her a special message of faith and discipleship. Among her favorite artistic inspirations was the original Winnie-the-Pooh, especially the work of E. H. Shepard. One of her most treasured pieces, created as part of an introductory art course while living in Temecula, California, beautifully captured that admiration and remains a lasting symbol of her artistry.
Lin was also deeply rooted in the Middleburgh community, where she and Tom lived for more than 18 years. She gave generously of her time and talents through local tourism efforts, the Schoharie Quilt Barn Trail, the Middleburgh Business Association, and her church. Together, she and Tom created and operated a gift shop at the base of the Vrooman’s Nose hiking trail called Under the Nose—a name Lin herself came up with. It was a place that reflected her warmth, creativity, and love of community.
Lin shared a beautiful love story with Tom that began in the fall of 1978 at Pine Bush High School, NY, where a tossed chalkboard eraser in glee club first caught her attention. That small moment grew into a bond that carried them through more than four decades of marriage, partnership, laughter, faith, and unwavering devotion. Through joy and hardship alike, they built a life rooted in hope, faith, and love—values that continue to guide her family.
Lin was preceded in death by her grandmother, Edith Smith; her father, Robert Smith; her mother, Marguerite Smith; and her in-laws, Donald Quinn and Joan Quinn. She will be remembered for her warmth, strength, artistic soul, deep faith, and the love she poured so freely into her family. Though her earthly fight has ended, her presence lives on in the hearts of those she loved, in the beauty she created, and in every sunset that now calls her to mind.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Lin’s life on Friday, July 17, at Coltrane Funeral Home in Middleburgh, New York, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 18, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Valley in Middleburgh, followed by a reception. In honor of Lin’s vibrant spirit and love of beauty, those attending are warmly encouraged to wear colorful clothing rather than black, as Lin would have wanted her life to be celebrated in an abundance of color.
