The ch*****ne is already poured.

The room is already made.

Last Sunday of August. Verandah brunch, 11 to 3. Opera echoing through the park. Then dinner at Bar Louis to close it out.

One day, three moods, zero reasons to leave Milford.

Some people plan vacations. We just planned your Sunday.

You can see three states from up here.

Milford K**b is 2.7 miles out and back with 387 feet of elevation gain. Figure an hour to an hour and a half, depending on how long you stand at the top, which will be longer than you planned.

From the viewpoint, you can see Milford below, the Delaware River cutting through the valley, stretches of farmland in every direction, and, on a clear day, the New Jersey High Point Monument across the water.

The trailhead starts right off Route 209. No permit. No fee. Just show up and go.

Hotel Fauchère is 10 minutes away.

This is a perfect any day hike.

Hotel Fauchère has been named one of the 10 best boutique hotels in the United States for 2026.

90 minutes from New York City.

Every guest wakes up to a full breakfast included with their stay. Not a voucher. Not a buffet behind a sneeze guard. A proper breakfast in a room that has been doing this since 1852.

Sunday brunch in the Delmonico Room is open to the public, 11am to 3pm. The Fauchère Benedict, the Lobster BLT, and Bloody Marys built properly on a porch facing Broad Street. No room key required. A reservation is.

Bar Louis is downstairs Wednesday through Sunday. The amaro menu is the most serious one within 90 minutes of New York City. The cocktails are better than anything you had in the city last weekend. The Lennon portrait watches over all of it without comment.

Number 8 in the country. 16 rooms. Milford, Pennsylvania.

One night in The Delmonico Room will not feel like anything else you have done this year.

On August 7, Hotel Fauchère hosts Oysters and Opera, a candlelit evening of live opera and refined seafood in the tradition of the great European supper clubs and the golden age of Delmonico’s dining.

The performers are not a local act. They are the real thing.

Raúl Melo is a Metropolitan Opera tenor who has performed Verdi, Puccini, and Bizet across four continents. Elizabeth Blancke-Biggs is a dramatic soprano who has sung Tosca, Turandot, and Brünnhilde at the Met, Teatro Massimo Palermo, and Washington National Opera. Michael Recchiuti has conducted at Venice’s Gran Teatro La Fenice and collaborated with Plácido Domingo, Renée Fleming, and Carlo Bergonzi.

They are performing between courses in a 16-room hotel in Milford, PA. At a table set with oyster towers, ch*****ne, and white-glove service. For $140 a person.

The evening runs course by course, aria by aria. East and West Coast oysters presented tableside. Dover sole. Filet Rossini. Butter-poached lobster risotto. Opera cake to close. Ch*****ne poured throughout.

Book a room and stay the night. Or come for dinner and drive back full.

Either way, reserve your seat now. The room is small and this will sell.

The best seat in Milford is on our porch.

Every Sunday, The Delmonico Room runs brunch from 11 to 3. The kitchen is sending out the lobster BLT, the eggs benedict, and the Fauchere benedict. The Bloody Marys are built properly. The porch faces Broad Street and has no interest in hurrying you along.

Stay for one course. Stay for three. No one is watching the clock.
