Dinner is downstairs. Share the sushi pizza. The amaro list is longer than anything within 90 minutes of the city. You do not need a reservation for the bar. You do need one for the dining room.

**Grey Towers
Saturday morning. Grey Towers is 4 minutes from the front door. Gifford Pinchot built it in 1886. The National Park Service runs it now. It is free. It is one of the most beautiful properties in Pennsylvania. Most people drive past it.

**Pop the Champagne
Your room has luxurious Bellino linens and a marble bathroom. The champagne is yours to bring. The 1852 building does the rest. 16 rooms. No elevator music. No lobby crowds.

**Sunday Brunch on the Porch

Some weekends are just weekends.

This one is not.

Memorial Day started in 1868. People placed flowers on graves of soldiers who never came home. The grief was not yet history. It was just grief.

157 years later, most of us spend today outside. Windows open. Grill going. Somewhere green. That is not wrong. Rest is not disrespect.

But take 60 seconds today. Think of one name. Someone who did not come back. Let it land before you set it down.

The freedom to be outside with people you love, with nothing urgent on the calendar, was not free.

Somebody paid for your Monday off.
