π Meet the Staff + Places to Go! π
Meet Duke, one of our favorite staff members here at the Inn! π
Duke has been a long-standing member of our family, and he takes his job very seriously. He joined us in the summer of 2021 when he was just 2 months old, and he quickly became a beloved part of the Inn.
His name, Duke, was chosen in honor of John Wayne, one of Michelleβs dadβs favorite actors. Just like his namesake, Duke has plenty of personality and a whole lot of charm! ππ€
His daily responsibilities include:
πΏ Keeping the pasture nicely manicured by eating the grass. (According to Steve, Duke still needs to work on this job π)
π Greeting our guests with plenty of enthusiasm.
β€οΈ Making new friends with everyone he meets.
π² Trimming trees and pruning the branches!
When he's not hard at work, Duke loves chatting with visitors, showing off his jumping skills, and his personal favorite: sticking his whole head into the feed bucket at mealtime! π
Fun fact: Duke came to the Inn thanks to Michelle's dad, who brought him home from one of our favorite local spots, Hershberger's Farm & Bakery!
If you're looking for a fun family outing during your stay, Hershberger's is a must-visit. You'll find:
π΄ Pony and buggy rides
π A petting zoo full of adorable animals (including lots of baby animals during the season!)
π© Fresh-baked breads, donuts, pies, and other sweet treats
π½ Seasonal fruits and vegetables
π A fantastic pumpkin patch in the fall
β¦and so much more!
Who knows, you might even fall in love with a goat of your own! π₯° If Duke steals your heart, Hershberger's is the perfect place to meet more friendly farm animals and maybe even bring home your very own four-legged friend.
Stop by and tell Duke hello during your visit, then make a trip to Hershberger's for even more unforgettable Amish Country fun! ππ
