Millinocket, East Millinocket & Medway folks -  please stop in for a drink and bar snacks (popcorn, nuts, and sometimes Turkish treats) at Birch's Campground & Beer Garden before the end of September! They opened their doors partway through the season this year and they are a wonderful young couple trying to bring a new business to the area. They bought the old Three Rivers Base in the Rice Farm area. They are loving meeting folks from town and having them in their new space, which they’ve done a great job with. Please stop in and say hi to Birch and her dog Moxie! She's got a drink menu and nice complimentary bar snacks! Chuck Harris, curator and caretaker of the historic Boomhouses on Chesuncook and Ambajejus Lakes, has entrusted Birch’s Campground & Beer Garden with one of his beautiful hand-carved birch bark canoes, which is available for purchase.

His craftsmanship and knowledge of the region are truly remarkable. If you stop by, ask us about the rich history of the Boomhouses and the North Woods—we’d be happy to share what we’ve learned from one of the last River Drivers - Chuck!
