The Sandhill Crane Migration 2026 has come to a close. Time to pack up and head home. The Farmhouse had over 80 bookings from eight states. Almost half of our guests were "old" friends from past years. A special highlight was meeting Any Tan, author of The Backyard Bird Chronicles, a #1 New York Times Best Seller. We shared dinner and an evening blind at Rowe Sanctuary. Thanks to my wonderful guests and all the staff and volunteers who helped host the biggest bird party in the Platte River Valley. Best Year Ever.

We had a wonderful 2025 Crane Migration Season. We had guests from 11 states. Several guests also arranged for viewing Prairie Chickens. The new visitor center at Rowe was very impressive. As always our local people were friendly and helpful. During the snow storm we were lucky to have no problem with power. The guests visited with friends, read, put together puzzles on the porch and had a great time clearing off the sidewalks. They were such good sports. The staff at Rowe Sanctuary was able to reschedule their blind trips. We couldn't do it without the volunteers. Over 1,000,000 Sandhill Cranes joined eagles, ducks and geese, and other birds that traveled north on the central flyway. Mother Nature really puts on an amazing show.
