Cookiefying another Amazing local spot 🍝

Being Italian and very picky about my food, I rarely go out for Italian because honestly… it’s usually better at home 😅 But Pastaru is absolutely the exception!!!

Yesterday, while snapping a cookie pic, I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Simone. He was genuinely so kind, welcoming, and appreciative, which makes supporting this business feel even more special ❤️

Pastaru truly puts so much passion into what they do. Everything is made fresh from scratch. All the ingredients are imported from Italy 🇮🇹 and you can absolutely taste the difference! 😋 I love that you can choose your pasta shape and sauce, and somehow it’s still affordable and quick without ever feeling like “fast food.”

Unless you’re making your own fresh pasta and sauce from scratch at home, you’re not going to beat a meal here! 🤌🏼

🚗 Parking is street parking only and can be a bit of a challenge at times but it is absolutely worth it! Trust me, Just GO!

Not your typical cookie backdrop… 👀

Clark Botanic Garden has been part of my life for decades…

We took our wedding photos here 37 yrs ago 👰‍♀️
Years later, my oldest completed his Eagle Scout project here. And my youngest spent a few summers in the children’s garden program 🥕

It’s such a peaceful little escape with walking paths, quiet benches, and in spring and summer, flowers in every direction 🌹🌸🌻🪻🌼🌷 There’s even an apiary 🐝 and a tiny gift shop to buy the their raw honey 🍯

Free to visit (donations welcome) and just a mile from home… I feel lucky 🍀 to have this spot so close 🤍

These paint-your-own cookies are such a fun little Easter activity 🐣

Each set includes a large 4” egg cookie + an edible cookie paint palette so kids can decorate their own.

The palettes are made with candy-coated milk chocolate from Trader Joe’s (naturally dyed) and are just as fun to eat after their masterpiece is done 💜

A hands-on treat without the worry of artificial colors.
