When I bought the house in 2021, the downstairs bathroom was, for lack of better word, gross. The old shower needed a ton of work we couldn’t afford at the time, so we put up a plywood wall over the shower area and used it as a half bathroom. Just snagged this vintage cookie press from ! The famous Nordic Ware products are right here in Minneapolis! I have yet to visit the factory/factory store, but it’s on my growing “to-do list”.

I got the dresser from a yard full of give-away furniture next to the elementary school where my husband teaches. The mirror from Marketplace. I intentionally turned the mirror horizontally, parallel to the dresser, even though the mid-century style was the have the mirror sit vertically attached to the dresser. Maybe not authentic to the time period, but I just liked it that way. 🤷‍♀️.

I got this 1958 sectional on Marketplace for cheap. It was in disrepair and needed some love. Got it reupholstered and man does it pop! Totally makes the room. I bought the upholstery fabric from Joanne’s online and a pro (Lonnie at Advanced Furniture Repair in St. Paul) worked his magic. And to add to the cool factor, it was locally made in 1958 by Mill City Furniture. My heart skips a beat whenever I look at it.

Ready to write that great American novel? Now you can on the fully functional Sears typewriter at . The younger guests seem to appreciate this the most as many of them have never gotten to use a typewriter. I’m waiting for someone to type out a message for the guestbook.
