Today, we recognize Indigenous Peoples’ Day and honor the histories, cultures, traditions, and contributions of Indigenous peoples, past and present.

As we appreciate the natural beauty of Wisconsin and the Northwoods, we also recognize the generations of Indigenous people whose histories and connections to these lands extend far beyond our own.

From all of us at Nitschke’s Northern Resort, we wish our community a meaningful Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

🍂 Even the leaves know when it’s time for a Northwoods getaway.

They’re arriving by the thousands, turning Minocqua into shades of red, orange, and gold, and apparently refusing to leave quietly. 😂

🍁 Sweater weather looks good on Minocqua.

Crisp mornings, colorful trees, a warm cup of coffee, and an afternoon spent wandering through downtown Minocqua. Then head back to the resort for a walk along the Bearskin Trail or a cozy evening at the cabin.

Fall in the Northwoods has a way of making you slow down and enjoy the simple things.

🎣 Fall fishing just hits different in Minocqua.

Cooler mornings, quieter water, changing leaves along the shoreline, and a thermos of something warm within reach. There’s something about being out on Lake Minocqua this time of year that makes you want to stay just a little longer.

The fish are a bonus. The peaceful Northwoods morning is reason enough to get out there.
