🌴 TUESDAY HURRICANE RECOVERY UPDATE — WE’RE OPENING TOMORROW!

We have some incredible news! Our crew has worked tirelessly and accomplished so much that Camping On The Gulf will reopen tomorrow, Wednesday, at 12:00 PM! 🎉

Less than one week after a Category 2 hurricane made landfall in Destin, we are preparing to welcome our guests back. This is a true testament to the dedication, hard work, and commitment of our amazing staff. We could not be more proud of this team!
Please understand that recovery is still ongoing. The 800 row, including sites 800–816, and sites 700–708 will require several more weeks of work and will not be ready for occupancy. We will continue working through the damage as quickly and safely as possible.

To everyone who has sent messages of encouragement, offered support, and lifted us up in prayer , THANK YOU! Your kindness has meant more to us than you know. You have helped keep us going during a very challenging week. ❤️

Our goal has been, and continues to be, to get everyone back to Camping On The Gulf as quickly and safely as possible. We still have work ahead of us, but tomorrow marks a huge milestone in our recovery!

Monday Recovery Update!

Our team continues to work hard to clean up and get Camping On The Gulf back up and running! A huge thank you to our amazing tree-trimming team at Tree Masters for their quick response and support!

We’re happy to report that the water slide is operational and the water is flowing! 🎉 We still have plenty of cleanup to complete on the beach, but we’re working hard and hope to reopen Thursday by 12:00 PM.

Important: If you are scheduled to stay on a 800–815 or 700–708 site this month, please call the office. We will need to relocate your reservation due to storm damage.

We will have cleanup work that will continue on these sites after the rest of the park opens. Please be patient with our efforts to get the beachsites up and running again.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to get our park back in shape. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back! 💙

We have power and water!!!

We still have a lot of cleanup to do before we are able to open the park but we are getting closer. I wish I had an estimated time to give you but we are at the mercy of supplies and equipment. Our amazing reservationists will be answering the phones tomorrow Oct 12th from 9-2 and 8-5 the remainder of the week. Please be patient with us, we are doing the best we can. Please do not come to the park to check on progress as it is not safe and it takes time away from our progress. We appreciate you all and can not wait to welcome you back!

Park Closure Update

Unfortunately, we are still working through the aftermath of Hurricane Isaias, and the park remains closed. We continue to be without power and water, so we are not yet able to reopen or accommodate scheduled guests.

If you have a reservation coming up, please do not make the trip to the park until you hear from us. We understand how disappointing and inconvenient this is, and we truly appreciate your patience while we work toward getting everything back up and running.

We will reach out with updates as soon as we have a better idea of when we can begin welcoming guests back. Thank you for bearing with us during this difficult time. We look forward to seeing everyone again soon! ❤️

We are currently assessing the park for damage. As of right now we do not have power or water and some trees are down. Please do not return until we give the all clear. Our team is going to work very diligently to get everything back up and going. I will post updates and pictures as I can. Thank you all so much for your kind words, prayers and messages we have felt them all. Thank you for patience and understanding. -The COTG Team

Due to the approaching storm and direction from local authorities, Camping On The Gulf will be under a mandatory evacuation beginning at 12:00 PM today.
All guests must leave the park by 2:00PM. Please begin preparing immediately and allow yourself plenty of time to safely depart the area.
We understand that this may be an inconvenience, but the safety of our guests and staff is our highest priority. Please do not delay your departure.
Once the evacuation is in effect, our staff will continue to monitor the storm and local conditions. We will provide updates as information becomes available regarding the park and when we may safely reopen.
Please travel safely, follow all directions from local emergency officials, and stay tuned to local weather and emergency alerts.

Coming into one of our busiest weeks of the year we wanted to give you glimpse of our amazing crew!

Every morning, as the beach fills up and the fun begins, our staff is busy cleaning, fixing, mowing, stocking, making donuts and coffee, cleaning pools, and making sure Camping On The Gulf is ready for another great day.

These pictures are just a small peek into the morning routine. There are plenty of other team members already hard at work who aren't pictured.

So the next time you see one of our team members going by in a golf cart, picking up palm fronds, answering questions with a smile, or making your cabin and bathhouses sparkle, give them a wave! 👋 They work incredibly hard so you can focus on the important things... like deciding whether to hit the pool or the beach first. 🏖️😎

This big American flag flying along Highway 98 isn't just a landmark—it's the moment many of our guests know they've arrived. We've had guests tell us they cheer, smile, or breathe a sigh of relief when they see it because they know vacation is finally here.
