🚩 30A Beach Update – Red Flag Today | Marine Life Appears to Be Decreasing

Today's official beach flag has been upgraded from 🟡 Yellow + 🟣 Purple to 🔴 Red.

The good news is that the purple flag is no longer flying, suggesting that reports of dangerous marine life have decreased. Based on community reports over the past several hours, the stronger onshore winds may have helped move many jellyfish away from the main swimming areas. While a few isolated stings have still been reported, activity appears to be lower than it was yesterday.

The red flag, however, means the surf has become significantly more dangerous. Increasing winds, building waves, and stronger rip currents are expected as a tropical system approaches the northern Gulf Coast. Conditions are expected to continue deteriorating through the next 24–48 hours.
