To say that this past week has been amazing would be an understatement. After completing the monster mile our Junior guards celebrated the summer coming to a close with Floatie Day.

Graduation was so wonderful and was the perfect send off for such an amazing year. Thank you to everyone who came and celebrated the last 8 weeks of challenges and fun with us. We loved having you all and cannot wait to see you next summer.

And a special thank you to our instructors, officer, and literate for making this year so magical for the kids. Your effort doesn’t go unnoticed and your influence on these kids speaks louder than words.

Wednesday and Thursday we took a trip over to the Baseball fields where the junior guards learned about our med bag and how to treat trauma wound on a watermelon!! We ended the day with kickball

WEEK FOUR 🐬🛟

Week four has been jam packed full of activities and lessons for our A/B and C kids! Dock swims have been a fan favorite at both North beach and East beach this week!! The kids learned all about diving and code X on Monday and Tuesday. On Friday the A/B group spent the day at east going over 971 drills and how to properly rescue an overturned vessel. we cannot wait to continue this lesson with them on monday!!!

Our junior guards had an awesome time last week learning all about our local fire departments and all the calls they respond to! Water safety is our number 1 priority as Junior guards so we loved learning how to be proactive and prevent drownings in both small and large bodies of water. Thank you again to OCFA !!

Our junior guards learned all about the lifeguard towers. The instructors showed off all of our equipment and explained what we use everything for on the day to day.

STAY 15 FEET AWAY FROM THE SWIM LINE!! The junior guards practice a prevention of a paddle board entering the swim area!

We ended the week with steak the bacon 🥓 💪
That’s the end of week 3!!

Flippin’ Friday!!!

We had an awesome time with the junior guards this week!! Earlier this week the JGs did rescue relays to learn how lifeguards save someone in the water. We also got a visit from BLOCK THE BLAZE who came and taught us all about sun safety and protecting our skin in long days in the sun.

Today the A/B kids spent the day doing circuits and learning about the lifeguard towers.

This week was full of games and competitions!! We are so excited for next week with tons of fun things planned!!

Last week the Junior Guards learned the basics to lifeguarding at Lake Mission Viejo!
On Wednesday and Thursday both groups learned how to tie the Lifeguard rescue tubes and properly enter and exit the water. We played Alien Invasion and Switch-a-roo.
On Friday we took our A/B kids on a run to East Beach and swam back. They took a tour of the Lifeguard headquarters and got a sneak peak inside the daily schedule of a lifeguard.
We are so excited for this week and cannot wait to teach the kids more lifeguarding skills!!

C Groups finished their first day with us today!! We completed a placement swim and spent time getting to know each other in our squads. The instructors are so excited to spend the summer teaching these children valuable water safety skills.
