Fireworks Banned in Moab City Limits
🔥 Due to extremely dangerous wildfire conditions the City of Moab has officially banned the use of personal fireworks within city limits.

On June 24, 2026, the City, with unanimous support from the Mayor and the City Council, issued a Declaration of Local Emergency to help protect public safety and reduce the risk of wildfire in our community.

⚠️ Fire danger in Moab and across Utah is very high and this temporary ban is important to keep residents, visitors, homes and businesses safe.

The annual community fireworks display, sponsored by the City of Moab and Grand County, will take place as planned at dusk on Saturday, July 4, near Sand Flats.

Thank you for doing your part to help prevent wildfires and protect our community during this high-risk fire season.

Yesterday afternoon, Grand County EMS responded to a heat-related emergency in Arches National Park.

With temperatures climbing well into the 90s and the haze from the Cottonwood Fire casting an eerie glow across the desert, Paramedic Vowles and EMT Hunter hiked the trail alongside National Park Service Rangers and Intermountain 20 to reach the patient.

Sometimes emergency medicine is measured not in minutes, but miles.

Be a good neighbor, no fireworks this year in Moab city limits.

The Moab City Council has issued a unanimous emergency declaration, prohibiting the discharge of fireworks within the city limits during the 4th of July season, following a discussion regarding extreme conditions with the Moab Fire Department. An official declaration is forthcoming today. The council's decision was influenced by the current potential dangers, which were discussed during the meeting.
