What a photograph

Wow. This is Sunday nights 99.9% waxing moon rise over Mount Rainier. The incredible capture was by Debbie Heyer. She said, “It was so cool watching it roll up the left side of the mountain.”

Mount Rainier, also known as Tahoma, is a large active stratovolcano in the Cascade Range of the Pacific Northwest in the United States. The mountain is located in Mount Rainier National Park about 59 miles south-southeast of Seattle.

I haven’t posted on this site recently because I assumed you are all staying home until you can get your Covid shots. I hope to get my first shot within the next 30 days and then in late February I’m going to Florida for two weeks. I have a great year planned and I’m hoping I can do everything that is scheduled. Now that Smith’s Vacation Cottages is no longer in operation I am free to travel but I do have extra points and can probably arrange some amazing vacation times for you at very reasonable rental rates. In March and April I will be spending time at Myrtle Beach and there is plenty of availability there. In late April and early May I am taking some ladies to Washington DC and to middle Virginia. I have an extended trip planned for late May and June which includes driving to Ohio and Michigan than taking Amtrak to Colorado, followed by touring six of the National Parks and then continuing on Amtrak to Seattle and a seven day cruise to Alaska. On the way back to Chicago there is 3 night stop at Glacier National Park before getting back to Ohio on June 25th in time for my family’s reunion on June 27th. I’m spending 4 weeks at Panama City Beach and Destin in July and August. Sept will be spent in Myrtle Beach as always (if we don’t have a hurricane). I’ll close out the last quarter with 12 days in Aruba and a Carnival Cruise in early December. Smiths Vacation Cottages are no longer in business. I arrange economical timeshare vacations for friends and relatives at Wyndham and Bluegreen resorts.

Who wants a week near Disney May 29 to June 5, 2020? I have a wonderful 3 bedroom condo with 2 bathrooms for that week at Legacy Vacation Club in Lake Buena Vista just outside the entrance to Disney hotels. $900.oo for the whole week unless you are friend or relative then there is a huge discount.

Since I no longer operate Smith’s Vacation Cottages I use this page to inform my friends and relatives of opportunities I can make available thru my timeshare ownerships. For 2019 I have some reservations that have already been made in the hard to book places and times. I have a 3 bedroom unit at Lake Buiena Vista just outside DisneyWorld for Easter week (April 19-26). I have another 3 bedroom unit on a golf course at Merrell Inlet South Carolina for October 19 – 26. I have several reservations for 5 nights at oceanfront units at Myrtle beach in the first two weeks of July. I also have a reservation at Pigeon Forge for the 4th of July week. These are all reservations I’ve made to handle the calls from friends and family who wait and then want someplace to go over July 4th or Easter week. I have an abundance of points to make reservations at hundreds of other destinations so if I can make a vacation for you please let me know where you would like to go and when and I will see what I can do. I’ve booked several reservations for myself in Myrtle Beach in February, March, and April and I usually book extra room so if you would like to join me just ask.

Smith's Vacation Cottages is no longer in business. Mr. Smith has passed away and I no longer rent cottages. I do however arrange vacations at various timeshare resorts.

Well it's time for me to post what reservations I have for summer of 2017 at Shorecrest. I have only 2 reservations that have not yet been claimed. These are both for a 5 night reservation in a 2 bedroom oceanfront unit. One reservation is for June June 11-16 and the other reservation is for July 2-7. Each reservation is $750.00.

For those of you who have rented time from me at ShoreCrest Vacation Villas in the past. I now have 5 reservations confirmed for next summer 2016. I will only be getting 5 reservations available for rent at Shore Crest next year so they will be on a first come first served basis. I have three (2) bedroom oceanfront units for June 19 to 24. and two of these same oceanfront units for June 26 to July 1. Send me a pm or email if you are interested.

Big news. Bob and Rita Smith are now divorced and Smith's Vacation Cottage is no longer available for rent. Rita Smith is however continuing to provide vacation rentals in her timeshares at Myrtle Beach and other resorts. I also have access to a wonderful condo in North Myrtle Beach which is owned by my friend Anne Gibbs. Pictures and information concerning my rentals as well as Anne's Condo can be found on my website which is still www.modocretreat.com
