Last week at The Lodging Conference 2026, attendees came together to celebrate Liam Brown, retired U.S. & Canada Group President of Marriott International, as he received the prestigious “Above & Beyond” Lifetime Achievement Award.

Longtime friend Dewey Weaver, Owner of InterMountain Management, had the honor of presenting the award. In his remarks, Dewey expressed his gratitude and reflected on Liam’s extraordinary character—especially his ability to listen, collaborate, and contribute meaningfully to the success of so many throughout his remarkable career.

Congratulations, Liam, on this well-deserved recognition and the lasting impact you have made on the hospitality industry.

🌟Associate Spotlight🌟

With over a decade of experience with us at InterMountain, today's Associate Spotlight, Kellan Beran, has grown from Front Desk Agent to Dual General Manager of the Courtyard and Residence Inn Houston City Place. His passion for hospitality began with a curiosity about what happens behind the scenes and has evolved into a career focused on leadership, growth, and developing future hospitality professionals.

When asked what he enjoys most about hospitality, his answer was simple: the opportunity to learn and grow. From sales and marketing to operations and finance, he loves the variety the industry offers and finds the greatest satisfaction in watching associates develop confidence and take ownership of their roles.

Outside of work, you'll find him spending time with his wife Hannah and their two children, traveling whenever possible, and enjoying plenty of warm weather and beach destinations.

Thank you, Kellan, for your leadership, dedication, and commitment to InterMountain.

Congratulations to our recent Climbing Mountains graduates!

Climbing Mountains is an internal leadership development program designed for a select group of Assistant General Managers. Over the course of six months, participants demonstrate a strong commitment to personal and professional growth while preparing for the next step in their management careers. The program provides comprehensive training on all aspects of hotel operations, including sales strategies and initiatives, and the opportunity to travel to another property to assist in its overall management. Our fabulous Corporate Trainer MaryAnn Mitchell leads this program.

We are incredibly proud of these graduates and look forward to their continued success in shaping the future of our organization!
