✨ Building Community Through Hosting ✨
One of the most fun (and rewarding!) parts of being a volunteer Airbnb Community Leader is planning events that bring hosts together. Over the past four years, our community has grown across Sonoma, Napa & Marin Counties — and along the way, countless friendships have blossomed. 💫
This past Saturday, our Airbnb Host Club celebrated with a Hostgiving Dinner & Toy Drive — a day filled with gratitude, laughter, and giving back at our host Brigit's wonderful listing. 🙏
We invited the Sonoma County Fire District – Bodega Bay to join us, and our amazing hosts donated toys for their annual holiday toy drive. 🎁
Three of Sonoma County’s finest 👨‍🚒👨‍🚒👨‍🚒 joined us for a traditional Thanksgiving feast — turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce… the works! 🍽️ After dinner, they gave us a tour of their fire engine (so cool!) and left with three big bags of toys for local kids — plus some leftovers for the crew back at the firehouse. ❤️
It was such a special day — a reminder of how powerful community can be, both within our host network and in the places we call home.
Here’s to connection, gratitude, and the incredible people who make hosting so meaningful. 💛

In addition to hosting at Harrison Creek Cottage, I also serve as a volunteer co-leader for the Sonoma & Napa Region Airbnb Host Community. Over the years, this role has become a meaningful part of my life — advocating for responsible hosting and helping build a strong network of hosts across Marin, Sonoma, and Napa counties.
Last week, I had the opportunity to attend the Community Leader Summit at Airbnb headquarters in San Francisco. More than 140 of us from across the U.S. came together for two days of learning, collaboration, and connection.
Each year, Airbnb recognizes outstanding leaders in the host community. One of those honors is the “Spreading the Love” award — traditionally chosen by Airbnb. But this year, for the first time, the decision was left to fellow Community Leaders.
I’m incredibly honored (and humbled) to have received this award — especially because it came from my peers. It was a truly special moment, and I’m so grateful for the recognition and support.

Most people don’t know this, but we’re the co-leaders of the Sonoma & Napa Region Airbnb Host Community Group (yeah, it’s a mouthful—but we love it!).

This spring, we hosted our very first brunch with fellow hosts from Marin, Napa, and Sonoma counties. These monthly meetups are such a great way to connect with other passionate hosts, share ideas, and dive deep into what it means to be great neighbors, responsible hosts, and engaged community members.

We care deeply about hosting legally and responsibly—and we’re proud to be part of a group that feels the same.

And get this… our little club has nearly 700 members now! 💥💛
