It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Steve Hankins, our longest-serving and much beloved former Executive Director.
It is impossible to fully express the depth and breadth of the impact Steve made during his 40 years of ministry at Sky Lodge Christian Camp. His larger-than-life personality welcomed thousands of campers, staff, and guests onto these grounds, but more importantly, his love for Jesus pointed countless people toward a relationship with Christ.
Whether leading Junior Camp songs, sharing his signature humor, working tirelessly behind the scenes, or taking time for meaningful conversations, Steve had a unique way of making people feel welcomed and valued. He helped create a place where generations found friendship, belonging, and the life-changing message of the Gospel.
The legacy Steve leaves at Sky Lodge cannot be measured simply by buildings, programs, or years of service. It is reflected in the countless lives changed through his faithful commitment to serving the Lord and helping others know Him.
We extend our deepest condolences and prayers to his wife, Terry, their daughters, and the entire Hankins family during this difficult time.
We are grateful for Steve's life, his ministry, and the lasting impact he has left on the Sky Lodge family.
