We're pleased to announce that the Boat Launch Parking Lot is back open! We hope all of our customers will enjoy this much-needed improvement to the parking area.

Please note:
-No overnight parking.
-Parking lot closes at 9 p.m. - all vehicles must leave by that time.
-No RV Parking.
-Parking for boat trailers takes priority!

The playground is temporarily closed due to construction around the playground. We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience as we know this is a busy time of year for the playground! When construction is complete, there will be improved walkways and benches surrounding the playground.

Burn Ban
MONTESANO: Effective 12:01 a.m. Friday, July 24, 2026. With the continued trend of warm and dry weather and increased fire danger across the region, the Grays Harbor County Fire Marshal’s Office and Fire Districts are enacting further restrictions on outdoor burning in Grays Harbor County until conditions moderate.

Fire safety burn bans are enacted when weather and fire fuel conditions reach a level of danger that may pose a threat to people and their property. The Department of Natural Resources has moved their fire risk on public lands in our region to ‘high’. This triggers the County’s process to enact the fire safety ban to minimize the threat of fires as much as possible.

At this time, recreational campfires, charcoal and wood burning devices, residential yard waste and land clearing burns are prohibited until further notice.

The use of natural and propane gas burning barbeques, pellet burning devices, gas camp stoves and gas fire pits is allowed.

Construction on a new pickleball court and accessibility improvements around the playground and Picnic Shelter 1 will begin August 3rd! These areas will be closed off for the safety of the public until the project is complete. We can't wait to welcome you to the new amenities at Friends Landing!

The Boat Launch Parking Lot Renovation is getting closer to completion, but it is not done yet! Thank you for your patience as we wrap up construction on this project and please give the construction crews space to complete their work. We hope to post an estimated timeline for re-opening soon.

Thanks to funding from the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office, big improvements will soon be coming to the Boat Launch Parking Lot. We are looking forward to having these improvements ready for you in time for fishing and boating this summer and fall!
