On Monday Port of Grays Harbor Commissioners and staff were pleased to host a ribbon cutting for the completion of the Friends Landing Day Use Improvements and Boat Launch Parking Lot Projects. Our community is now able to enjoy brand-new ADA accessible sidewalks, a freshly paved Boat Launch Parking Lot and a pickleball court!
This project falls in line with the Port Commission's commitment to investing in and improving our public access facilities for residents and visitors to enjoy.
The completion of this project would not have been possible without funding from the Grays Harbor Community Foundation, Kelsey Foundation and Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office. We also want to extend our gratitude to , Rognlin's Inc., , , and Taycon Contracting for their partnership throughout these projects.

Big news! 🎉Friends Landing is celebrating the completion of our Day Use Improvements and Boat Launch Parking Lot with a Ribbon Cutting on October 5th.
Come check out the new features including the brand-new pickleball court and enjoy some treats and refreshments.

We will be gathering under Picnic Shelter 1 at 3:30, we hope to see you there!

The playground is temporarily closed due to construction around the playground. We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience as we know this is a busy time of year for the playground! When construction is complete, there will be improved walkways and benches surrounding the playground.

Burn Ban
MONTESANO: Effective 12:01 a.m. Friday, July 24, 2026. With the continued trend of warm and dry weather and increased fire danger across the region, the Grays Harbor County Fire Marshal’s Office and Fire Districts are enacting further restrictions on outdoor burning in Grays Harbor County until conditions moderate.

Fire safety burn bans are enacted when weather and fire fuel conditions reach a level of danger that may pose a threat to people and their property. The Department of Natural Resources has moved their fire risk on public lands in our region to ‘high’. This triggers the County’s process to enact the fire safety ban to minimize the threat of fires as much as possible.

At this time, recreational campfires, charcoal and wood burning devices, residential yard waste and land clearing burns are prohibited until further notice.

The use of natural and propane gas burning barbeques, pellet burning devices, gas camp stoves and gas fire pits is allowed.
