January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month. Thanks to these ladies from the Junior League of Birmingham, Homewood Suites by Hilton Montgomery hosted two training sessions today geared specifically toward the Hospitality Industry to help us recognize the signs and do our part to help END IT! Thanks to the Montgomery Police Department and the Middle District of Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force for your representation as well.

Yesterday we Celebrated Hilton’s 100th Birthday! Homewood Suites Montgomery celebrated by showing a Small Act of Kindness to our local 911 Dispatchers. These are our “First” First Responders and we are so thankful for their service. Did you know that the first 911 call in the United States came from Haleyville, Alabama on February 16, 1968? Thanks Department if Communications for allowing us to Celebrate you as we celebrated 100 years of Hospitality!

Great time celebrating TMAW today with Celebrity Match Game hosted by our DOS Ray Brown followed by a spectacular Taco Bar prepared by our AGM Michelle Taylor. Then each team member was given their LBA Visor Of Vision reminding them of Hilton's Vision Statement! WONDERFUL!

Our Annual Lewis The Duck reading was a hit. Two schools and nearly 300 students reached! Our staff raised money so that we could purchase snacks for each child and we donated books to each school. We worked with great men and women from the Wouded Warriors Project and the Ten Times One is Ten Women's Federated Club. What a great day.

In honor of Youth in Hospitality Month, Homewood Suites Montgomery and Hilton Garden Inn Montgomery hosted a luncheon for the Carver High School Hospitality & Tourism Academy. Our team members rolled out the red carpet to show these future stars why we love to do what we do!

Our Hotel Mascot Lewis the Duck helped teach class today with the ladies of the Ten Times One is Ten Federated Club at Evangel Christian Academy! This is a part of our literacy program and each student went home with a Lewis the Duck book, not to mention they enjoyed yummy snacks including duck cupcakes! It was so much fun.

We held a Hamburger Plate Lunch Fundraiser to help with our $500 goal for the Joy to Life Foundation Walk of Life for Breast Cancer awareness. We raised $256 from this event alone and have exceeded our goal! Great job team! We also gave thanks to our F&B Manager for pulling it all together! She and the whole team rocks!
