This is a MAJOR upgrade for us and we are SOOO excited!

While our list of dreams for this place is long, we are finally going to be able to scratch a pretty major one off our list.

While we have comfortable and lovely accommodations, we have no other indoor structure for our guests to hang out…until now! Well…you will have in Spring 2027.

The is a 500 square foot space by Luna Glamping | Luxury Outdoor Structures . The style and build will fit perfectly with our property. It will have canvas on all 3 sides and for the roof. The front entry will have full glass doors.
This space will be perfect for:
✅ Glamping guests to enjoy their meals, play games or read a book. The idea is put in couches, chairs and tables for a relaxing hangout.
✅ Events! Maybe a concert, meditation/yoga class, fitness class, jewelry making, etc. the ideas are endless!
✅ Retreats! Adventure, yoga, corporate, skydiving, reunions, women’s retreats. All of it! Hoping to expand this part of the business.
✅ Weddings! We have a beautiful space but lack an interior place for weddings.

First step is to build the deck that this will sit on. This will begin in November. Follow along if you want to see the progress!

Summers in Utah are hot! Here’s an itinerary idea for what to do in Utah's Canyon Country during our summer months.

These are in order of image.

📍House on Fire. Only an hour drive from Glamping Canyonlands. This is a 2 mile out and back hike with only 68 feet of elevation gain. An easy hike to see some ruins up close and is kids and dog friendly.
📍 Moki Dugway. After House on Fire, drive 30 more minutes and you arrive at this 3 mile stretch of steep, unpaved switchbacks carved into the face of a cliff. History is it was constructed in 1958 to transport uranium ore from Happy Jack Mine on Cedar Mesa down to the processing mill in Halchita. This road can make people nervous but it’s totally worth it!
📍Valley of the Gods. The 17 mile dirt road begins shortly after you have completed the Moki Dugway. This route is just classic Southwest scenery. Managed by the BLM with no entrance fees, it features an unpaved loop road through buttes, spires and ancient monoliths. Absolutely breathtaking and a must do! Our favorite of the day!
📍Goosenecks State Park. What this park lacks in size, it makes up for in impressive views of the San Juan River. The river twists and turns over 6 miles while advancing 1 and 1/2 miles west on its way to Lake Powell. Only $5 to enter with picnic tables and camping spots. This was a pleasant surprise for us. We had a nice lunch with a great view.

🍔You can swing by one of the cute restaurants in the small town of Bluff on your way back to your glamping retreat.

🏜️2 additional options we didn’t do on this road trip but have done on other trips.
1. Natural Bridges National Monument (one of our favorite places).
2. Mexican Hat

We started at 8:30am and were back home by 3:00. With this itinerary, you can still sleep in and still get back at a good hour. If adding Natural Bridges and/or a restaurant stop, you will add 2-3 hours but still a doable and fun day to beat the heat!

‼️The Needles District of Canyonlands National Park is officially back OPEN!! 🥳🥳🥳

The National Park has been closed since June 28th due to the Babylon Fire which has grown to over 107,000 acres. There were over 1,500 personnel at one point to get a handle on this fire. In the beginning, the strong winds we had for 3 days pushed the fire to grow rapidly. There were days it was growing by 7 miles per day! We were seeing a 10,000+ acres increase daily. It was TERRIFYING! We thought at times, we were going to loose our home and business. Something we have been working on building for the past 6 years.

The firefighters have been working tirelessly on this fire and we have seen the benefits from all their efforts. The fire is barely growing now and the containment is up to 82% with HWY 211 and The Needles District of Canyonlands NP being fully reopened. There are still some BLM and Forest Service roads that are still closed.

The pictures are from our honeymoon in 2012. The Needles District was my first ever backpacking trip and Erik’s bazillionth time. This area has always been in our hearts and knew we wanted to come back here one day. We are thankful our land, the surrounding lands and Canyonlands National Park is safe.

It will be sad to see the damage the fire has caused the Abajo Mountains area. 107,000 is a lot of land! We’ve only been here 6 years but for those that have been here for generations, are feeling the pain and loss of their mountain. 💔

The Babylon Fire is still active but we are feeling hopeful. ♥️
