Eight women are coming out for a bridal shower this weekend, and Wendy spent the morning getting King's Quarters ready for them.

Here's what a bridal shower usually looks like: a rented room somewhere, folding tables, a parking lot out the window, and somebody's mom hauling in three carloads of decorations at 8am.

Here's what this one looks like: a creekside semi-outdoor venue on private property. The water going by. Open air, real seating, real comfort, no camping gear required. Wendy sets it up. The bride's people walk in and it's already done.

That's the part we love most about this business. Not just hosting the night — building the moment. Showers, birthdays, anniversaries, the girls' weekend that's been on the group chat for two years. Tell us what you're celebrating and we'll set it up.

Monument, Colorado. Just show up.

An email landed in my inbox this week: a 20-tent glamping retreat outside Yellowstone just went up for sale. Asking price — $8,990,000. Ninety-six percent occupancy. Rated the #1 lodging property in its town.

Why does a cluster of tipis command that kind of money? One reason: it's a 10-minute drive from Yellowstone's north entrance. Location is the product.

We don't have Yellowstone. But we've got our own version of "close to something incredible" — Pike National Forest trailhead 2 miles away, Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods minutes down the road, the Air Force Academy right there too. Plenty to fill a weekend, plus the quiet of your own deck and hot tub to come back to.

Here's the difference: we don't charge extra for every little thing. No upcharges, no surprise fees at checkout — not even for cleaning. One flat rate, $300/night, everything essential already included.

Location got you here. Honest pricing is why you'll come back.

Our daughter gets married next month.

Before that day comes, her friends did something that caught us off guard — they asked to throw her bridal shower here, at Monument Glamping. Not a banquet hall. Not someone's backyard. Here, on the same six acres where Wendy and I host our guests every week.

So we strung a floral garland over the pergola, hung a BRIDE banner on the fence, fired up the hot tub, and let a group of young women take over one of our tents for an afternoon of drinks, crafts, and the kind of laughter that carries across a field.

It's a strange and wonderful thing, watching the place you built for strangers become the place your own family celebrates. Turns out it holds both just fine.

Congratulations to our girl. One month to go.

In 2004 I bought a canvas tent from Davis Tent for hunting trips. It sat rolled up in storage for 15 years.

In 2019, mid-remodel, Wendy and I pitched it in the backyard instead of sleeping in the living room. We loved it so much we listed it on Airbnb. That one tent made $2,400 that summer.

We had no idea that was the beginning of Monument Glamping.

The American Glamping Association just published the full story — how one tent became five, how we fought through permitting to build it right, and how a hunting trip purchase turned into a real hospitality business. Link in comments.

Come see what it turned into. Check out the article:

Rain hit us hard the last couple days. Four guests canceled — reservations that had been booked since last month. That's over $1,000 we refunded.

Here's the thing: most Airbnbs, most campgrounds, even most resorts hold some kind of retainer when you cancel. We don't. If weather puts a damper on your trip, we refund you. Full stop.

Actually, it's broader than weather. Family emergency, you got sick, a snowstorm or monsoon rolled in, plans just changed — whatever the reason, we refund. We're not interested in stiffing people over things they can't control.

Yes, it costs us. This week it cost us over a grand. But we'd rather eat that than have you hesitate to book a night in nature because you're worried about what happens if life gets in the way.

No risk. Book today at MonumentGlamping.com.

Some of the best people who've ever worked at Monument Glamping have been gone a couple years. This week, two of them are coming home.

Lola used to be one of our top cleaners — back before she was married, back before Phoenix. Josh was right there too, until he did what any smart guy would do and followed her out west. They got married a year ago. Josh spent the last two years on Grant Cardone's sales team. Lola's finishing her degree online through Grand Canyon University. And now they're packing up the U-Haul and heading back to Colorado, where both of their families are.

Josh is rejoining us — this time as our Community Manager.

We built this business on people who actually care about it. It's a good feeling when some of them find their way back.

Welcome home, you two. MonumentGlamping.com

(We had a fun morning showing a fellow landowner around Monument Glamping.

Anja and her soon-to-be daughter-in-law Mec came out to see the property — the tents, the container homes, the creek — and it reminded us all over again why we love this work. Private-property glamping means your own space, your own deck, your own hot tub, all tucked into six acres along Monument Creek. No campground chaos, no shared lots. Just show up.

We always enjoy walking people through what we've built here. If you'd like the same tour (minus the landowner talk — just the good stuff), come stay with us. Reserve your escape at MonumentGlamping.com, and we'll gladly give you the $2 tour too. We'll do it for free if you ask nicely. 🙂

Come see it for yourself. Check availability and book direct at MonumentGlamping.com.

We get asked about Honeycomb's sauna more than almost anything else on the property — so here's the story behind it.

When we built Honeycomb in 2025, the view was gorgeous... except for one thing. Looking out over the creek valley, you could just make out a few houses in the distance, and it took some of the magic out of an otherwise perfect setting.

So we got a little creative. We researched building our own sauna, and themed it right into the Honeycomb container — it's still the only sauna we have on the property, and Honeycomb has become our best-loved unit because of it.

Every venue here has the deck, the firepit, the hot tub. Honeycomb just goes one step further. Add the $39 cold plunge and you've got a full health-spa evening under the stars.

🍀 Lucky guests, actually.

Here's something a lot of our guests don't know: the people running Monument Glamping aren't just hosts — Chris is one of the people other landowners turn to when they want to do this too. He teaches property owners across the country how to turn raw land into real hospitality: safari tents, container homes, private hot tubs, the whole thing.

So when you book a stay here, you're not just getting a private deck and a fire pit under the stars. You're staying with someone who's spent years figuring out what actually makes an outdoor stay feel restful instead of rustic — and who's still doing the work of running it himself, every day.

That's the luck of the draw with us: you get the quiet, the creek, the hot tub steam rising into the cold air — hosted by people who take this seriously enough to teach it.

We know you love glamping. But are you interested in running a glamping operation? Check out https://skool.com/glamping. You'll see the 🍀 sign next to his name, meaning he's teaching a lot of others.

Honeycomb has quietly become the venue everyone wants first.

Since we added the sauna, it's not just a glamping stay anymore — it's a full health-spa experience. Private hot tub, fire pit, real bed under canvas, and now a sauna to end the night the way it should end: warm, quiet, no rush.

It's why Honeycomb is booking up faster than any venue on the property. If you've been eyeing it, don't wait for a "someday" weekend — someday keeps getting booked by someone else.
