Good news the parks credit card reader is again operational. They do have crickets but currently are out of ice. Ice was ordered on Tuesday so hopefully it will arrive on Friday July 3rd.

Happy 4th of July - Update - Wildlife, Upcoming Programs, and the Ouachita River Level

With rain upstream early last week the river began rising over the past weekend. It came up to around 70ft but has already fallen 1ft. At this rate it should be good for the Holiday weekend.

We have seen some amazing wildlife in the park just in the past week including baby red foxes, baby deer, and baby otters.

The park will be having some programs and boat tours this week/weekend. Check out the picture below which shows the times and locations. Remember boat tours and the craft on July 1st require signing up beforehand.

Happy 4th of July weekend!

Update from the Bay - good river levels, upcoming Memorial Day Programs, and a summer maintenance position is open.

River levels have remained low through the winter and spring but recent rains finally removed the burn ban. We did get a minor rise in the river recently but the River level today is 66.30 ft and falling.

The Memorial Day Holiday is fast approaching. The park will be offering some tours and programs which can be viewed in the picture below. Keep in mind some programs such as boat tours require signing up first since space is limited.

Last but not least. A summer maintenance position is open at the park which includes trash pickup, w**d eating, and other duties as assigned. This job is out in the summer heat and works 4 days a week Monday-Thursday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. It pays $12.50 an hour. We are looking for a person who could start this month (May) and work through mid July. All applicants 18yrs of age or older are encouraged to apply. A background and drivers license check is required. Any interested persons should email or call the park (email - [email protected]) (Phone - 870-463-8555).
