My husband and I were the owners of the Morongo Valley Inn for almost 4 decades. I owned it before I knew him. He and I did all the renovations and I am the one who did the historic finish on the lobby walls. Daniel built the cabinets, we designed them together. We refinished floors, repaired tile and fireplace masonry and the Smithsonian sent agents out when we completed the historic renovation. They were also headed to the historic Kelso Train Station about the same time frame, it is out by Barstow. History channel took almost 3 hours of video and about 45 minutes of it was shown on History Channel. I tried to document on this page our long 12 month 7 days a week, 12-24 hours a day restoration process. Anyone having questions can PM me on this page. I have historic photos, letters, and documents that should go with the Inn and I’m sorry I did not complete the Historic Monument process it was approved for. It needs to be a protected landmark. It is a huge history piece.
