Close 30-40 minute drive for wineries (recommend Four Lanterns in Paso Robles for a chill afternoon). We would love to come back and take advantage of everything else the area has to offer. Hosts are very responsive, would definitely recommend!” -Molly

Today! 🌊🩵

Join a State Park Interpreter in exploring tidepools while participating in a community science project called Sea Slug Search to document sea slugs in this area and assist researchers in tracking sea slugs!

We will meet at the Hazard Reef Trailhead parking area (35.285364, -120.880877) in Montaña de Oro State Park at 8am on Wednesday, May 6. Tip: type the coordinates into your map app of choice to find the meeting location.

Please be sure to download the iNaturalist classic app and create an account before the event, if you do not already have one.

Come prepared for coastal weather and wear layers and non-slip shoes that can get wet. Make sure to bring a water, sunscreen, and any snacks you may need.

Note, we will walk approximately 0.5 miles on a trail with steep steps and a creek crossing from the parking lot to the tidepools. We will also walk on this trail back to the parking lot following the tidepooling activity.

All ages are welcome to attend this free event, but children must be accompanied by an adult.
