Sadly, for the safety of our campers, we have made the difficult decision to cancel all Memorial Day weekend camping reservations at Riverside Acres.

With the Little Miami River already running high, combined with forecasts calling for up to 2 additional inches of rain and the potential for flooding, we feel this is the safest decision for everyone. All campers will receive a full refund for their reservations.

While this is certainly not the way we hoped to kick off summer, we know brighter days are ahead! ☀️ We’re looking forward to sunny weekends, great river conditions, campfires, laughter, and making new memories along the river very soon.

The good news? Summer is just getting started — and we can’t wait to welcome you back when conditions are fun, relaxing, and safe for all.

Our four private campsites along the scenic Little Miami River are looking great, and we’re excited to finally share them with you!

Each of our 4 large sites, are clean, and surrounded by trees perfect for hammocks, with your own private riverside view. Sit back, relax, and let the gentle rapids lull you to sleep.

This is a small, private, family-friendly primitive campground—just four sites total—so it stays quiet, peaceful, and close to nature.

🌿 Dirk & Lori’s Riverside Acres is now open for 2026 reservations on Hipcamp! 🏕️

After taking some time away, we’re excited to once again share a small piece of the Little Miami River with friends and guests who have enjoyed camping here over the years.

For 2026, we’re offering just four beautiful riverfront campsites, each tucked along the riverbank where you can relax, listen to the rapids, watch the wildlife, and enjoy the peaceful beauty of this special place.

Please keep in mind that this is now our backyard, and since we’re officially retired, we’re keeping things simple and limited so we can continue sharing it in a relaxed way.

These are primitive “leave no trace” campsites, each with a fire ring and picnic table. Two portable toilets are available on site, but there are no showers or concession stand.

If you’ve camped here before, you know how special this stretch of river is. And if you haven’t yet, we’d love for you to experience it.

 🌿 Riverside Acres – A New Chapter Begins

Lori and I are truly grateful for the overwhelming interest in Riverside Acres. Your messages, encouragement, and excitement have meant more to us than you know.

After nearly 50 years of welcoming families to the river, we’ve chosen to retain a special portion of our former campground — a peaceful stretch we’ll enjoy ourselves and share with a small number of longtime friends, supporters, and guests.

This will be a limited and intimate experience. Simple. Quiet. True and respectful to the river.

We hope to begin accepting reservations by March 1st. We are currently finalizing details such as pricing, number of guests per site, and a few policies before announcing the available dates.

These will be primitive sites, each with a picnic table and fire ring — designed for those who love nature and want to enjoy the wildlife… without being the wildlife.

Because availability will be limited, we encourage you to stay tuned for updates. More details will be shared soon.

Thank you for your patience, your loyalty, and for being part of our journey for nearly five decades. We look forward to welcoming you back to the river.
