It’s a big week in Mayberry!

This week in Mount Airy, North Carolina…the Mayberry Days Festival gets into full swing as fans of The Andy Griffith Show gather in Andy Griffith’s hometown for one of the biggest Mayberry celebrations of the year. Running through Sunday, September 27, the festival fills downtown Mount Airy with familiar sights, live entertainment, special guests, classic TV memories, and plenty of small-town fun. Some of the biggest events are still to come, including autograph sessions, live shows, Mayberry trivia, music, contests, and Saturday morning’s Mayberry Days Parade, when tribute characters, special guests, classic vehicles, and other groups make their way through town. You can also visit places tied closely to Griffith, including the Andy Griffith Museum, Andy Griffith Playhouse, Historic Earle Theatre, and Blackmon Amphitheatre. Mayberry Days began in 1990 as a one-day celebration marking the show’s 30th anniversary before growing into the weeklong tradition it is today. Sunday wraps things up with the Mayberry Days Chapel service and more entertainment.
