A Victorian bed and breakfast in the heart of downtown Mount Airy, NC. GRAND OPENING APRIL 2015! Merritt House and was built in 1901. Merritt’s brickyard.

Heart & Soul Bed and Breakfast in Mt Airy NC was formally known as the William E. The home is considered a reflection of the colonial revival era. This two-story home has a brick exterior with 18-inch thick walls, supplied by Mr. It has a two and half story bay in the front with a wrap-around porch. ELEGANT ACCOMMODATIONS

The house features granite string courses and window trim from the North Carolina Granite Corporation located in Flat Rock, North Carolina. The house is 4500 square feet and features original hardwood floors and built in wood furnishings. It features 4 suites: Pleasant Valley, Coventry, Stafford and Crystal Coast. Each room represents the places the innkeepers have called home. IN THE HEART OF THE HISTORIC DISTRICT OF MOUNT AIRY, NC

Heart & Soul Bed and Breakfast is located in the heart of Mount Airy’s Historic District. The home is walking distance to downtown shops, restaurants, and shows. The Bed and Breakfast will open March 1, 2015 and will be open year round. The home will be available for weddings, receptions, special events or any North Carolina Vacation.

There’s just something special about good friends who make the time to pack a bag, pick a town, play a little golf, eat very well, pour a little w**e, and enjoy each other’s company.

This fabulous group of friends chose Mount Airy and the Heart & Soul for their latest getaway, and really…could there be a sweeter place for it?

And dinner was not just dinner. We had the absolute treat of welcoming guest chef Ed Badgett into the Heart & Soul kitchen, where he prepared an incredible meal for the group and turned an already special evening into something truly memorable. When Ed is cooking, you know you’re in for more than supper — you’re in for an experience!!!

They’ll head out to the course in the morning, but tonight was reserved for exceptional food, good w**e, and the kind of laughter that only happens when old friends finally get everyone in the same place.

Around here, we believe life is better when it’s a little slower, supper is worth sitting down for, and your friends stay long enough for one more glass.

Come for the golf. Stay for the Mayberry charm. And if you’re lucky enough to have Ed in the kitchen, cancel your plans and pull up a chair.

Why a B&B you ask? You could say for the personal attention and incredible breakfast served up hot every morning. Or the guests that return each year like our wonderful VA friends that have been coming to Mayberry Days for 29 years with over 25 stays at the Heart & Soul. For us it's the relationships that form and grow over the years that feel more like visiting family members than just guests. Come see us and join the growing H&S family.

Yesterday was a first for the Heart & Soul… and what a beautiful first it was! 💍🌸

We had the honor of hosting Annalise & Kody’s engagement party, and the theme could not have been more perfect: OFF THE MARKET. 🥂

Naturally, there was a flower market where guests could build their own bouquets, because you will never catch an Everhart party without some kind of activity. 😉 Add in bocce ball, ping-pong, co****le, a fabulous menu, and an even more fabulous group of guests, and it was the perfect way to celebrate the happy couple.

Our newly renovated backyard officially made its party debut and has been completely transformed into the ultimate gathering spot. Seeing it filled with flowers, food, laughter, friends, and family was exactly what we dreamed of when creating this space.

Congratulations, Annalise & Kody! We loved celebrating you and are so honored that your “off the market” era began with a party at the Heart & Soul. 🤍🌿💍

These prosciutto, spinach, cheese & egg pies were the perfect blend of comfort, decadence, and Southern charm. At Heart & Soul, we believe breakfast should feel like a warm hug… preferably with flaky crust and melted cheese. 😉🍳🥐

Nothing says summer quite like live music under the stars!

Tonight marked the very first concert at the Blackmon Amphitheater, and what a beautiful evening it was for Mount Airy. Fabulous people, incredible music, lawn chairs, laughter, and a community that shows up to celebrate the arts.

At Heart & Soul Bed & Breakfast, we love being part of a town that values connection and nights that make memories. Here’s to many more fantastic concerts, sweet Carolina evenings, and music filling the Summer air all season long. 💛

Closed for a January Glow-Up… Reopening with Heart & Soul

We pressed pause for the month of January — but behind the scenes, the magic was in full swing.

The Butler’s Pantry and kitchen received a beautiful facelift and every corner of Heart & Soul is refreshed, polished, and ready for our 2026 guests.
