Great idea for seeing the foliage during a stay here in fall. The state park is an amazing experience of its own but why not try a train ride tour, too? We can’t wait to hear about your adventure.
Starting back October 7th in New York, you can ride the only “Fall Foliage Steam Engine Train” in the state aboard the Arcade & Attica Railroad in Arcade. This 2-hour-and-20-minute round trip takes you through the hills and countryside of Western New York as the trees turn bright shades of red, orange, yellow, and green. The ride is scheduled to be pulled by historic Steam Engine #18, giving you the sound of the whistle, steam, and old-fashioned rail travel along with the fall views. You’ll travel about 40 minutes each way before stopping at Curriers Station for roughly 30 minutes. Here, you can use the restrooms and purchase local c***r and doughnuts, Sahlen’s grilled hot dogs, nachos, drinks, and other snacks. Fall rides are offered only October 7, 10, 11, 12, 14, 17, 18, and 21. Weekday trips depart at 1 PM, while weekend rides leave at 10:30 AM and 1 PM. Tickets are $29 for adults and $27 for seniors and military guests with valid ID. Restrooms are at both stations, but there are none aboard the train.
