What’s a River Cruise without a palace or two … plus friends to hang with? Today we spent time in the Baths at Biden Biden… no cameras allowed! They promise you will be healthy and 20 years younger. Right now France is across the river on my right and Germany on the left bank .

Today was a solemn day on the Danube, with an optional visit to the Mauthausen Concentraton Camp Memorial, perched on a mountain top overlooking a valley and the swiss alps in the distance. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mauthausen_concentration_camp
I am grateful to our knowledgeable guide, who was personally taught by an survivor of this camp. His (non-jewish) grandmother was taken to Aushwitz as a political prisoner, and his close friend was also imprisoned. Tomorrow, officials will honor the liberation day of the camp, on May 2, 1945, .....79 years ago.

Until 1989, since 1950’s, the Iron Curtain ran through the middle of this forest. I am Standing in Bratislava which was under communism during those decades. Looking to the right is Austria , and straight ahead is Hungary. Below me is the Danube.

Made it to Budapest! It’s a gorgeous day - springtime has sprung and the crowds are everywhere. Drinks at the fabulous Rooftop Bar at the Matild Palace later.

On the road again ! Flying to Budapest to board a river cruise on the Danube on the luxurious gourmet ( I hope! ) Riverside Mozart. This exact ship was my first River Cruise way back around 1997 when there were very few ships on the Rivers … and since then the Mozart has had 2 different owners, including Crystal, and it was renovated multiple times. I am excited about the different excursions coming up on this all inclusive journey .

Final Dinner.....> and then HOME....for one week only ~ Unpack, do wash, babysit, Passover dinner, repack.....then Board my flight to Budapest for another River Cruise with Riverside Luxury Cruises but this time on the Danube. Last trip for a while.....
